Mexican delicacy
What's the strangest food you've ever eaten? For me it's Mexican delicacy, chapulines. These are nothing but fried insects - grasshoppers or crickets. First, they are seasoned with salt, lime juice and chilli and then fried.
It's the most original food I've tasted. I have tried just one and I didn't ike it much. But for Mexican people it's super delicious. I felt a little guilty after eating it because I am a committed vegetarian but I just had to try it. Hope my vice will be forgiven. At least I didn't eat this biggest ones, which look a little scary!
That's the chapulines seller. The photos were taken in Oaxaca. It's a city and region famous for tequila, chocolate and fried insects. I didn't see that much chapulines anywhere else in Mexico. Seems that Oaxaca is Mexican food capital :)

I've tried chapulines before, and I really liked them. Mines were seasoned with chilli and lime too.
Oh! Maybe I've tried some bad ones or maybe it's just not my taste. Still, pretty strange to eat ;)
