Borobudur temple

A spectacular Buddhist temple named Borobudur, in Java island in Indonesia. The building is simply magnificient. There are 72 ''small''stupas in the upper part of the temple. Stupa is this bell-shaped piece of architecture and they make visiting this temple an unforgettable experience.
Borobudur is said to be built in 9th century and abandoned in 14th century. It was forgotten and then covered with volcanic ashes and expanding jungle. It started being excavated in 19th century, which means this amazing temple was hidden under ground for five centuries. Incredible!
