Zerocoin vulnerability Discovered - XZC, PIVX, NAV, EXCL mentioned

We had ZEC zerocash vulnerability found a few days ago and now a team of XZC found a bug in zerocoin.

PIVX, NAV and other coins also had the bug since they have used the Zerocoin protocol. All of the coins went down.

EXCL which is doing chain-switch now wanted to also use zerocoin for anonymity but luckily didnt. You can trade it on Bittrex/Upbit while we wait for all specs of chain switch.

At this point Zerocoin sevices will be stopped and even Zcoin is moving away to new technology - Sigma protocol.

The XZC team acted fast and made sure all projects know there is a huge vulnerability making for now Zercoin protocol unusable.

    In such cases what happens to people who were holding this coin, zerocoin in this case?

      This is why Bitcoin is more trustworthy in my book because a lot of the vulnerabilities and bugs were worked out YEARS ago. Also with so many eyes on the same code it makes it easier to discover such things for a coin with a larger community. Smaller projects that utilize newer tech are always going to have more problems in the long run because of this.
