The China Hustle - Movie Review

in #cn4 years ago

Lately on my blog, i have made a post cryptocurrency things to do during covid19 and among many tasks, i have put there some movies that you should watch.

One of them is The China Hustle. While it's about stocks, not crypto when you watch it you can see the same thing could be done also on crypto and its not eve about China just a type of method of pumping stocks or cryptocurrency - as crypto is like stocks 2.0 imho.

There is a popular joke on Wall Street: "This time it will be different." Meanwhile, shortly after the 2008 stock market crash, financiers found new ways to quickly achieve large profits. China has become an attractive target, and thanks to the reverse acquisition transaction hundreds of Chinese companies have entered the US market. Huge growth and low supervision created ideal conditions for the development of another speculative bubble. Jed Rothstein tells the story of a new crisis that has so far cost private investors billions of dollars.

President Donald Trump's announcements of deregulation of the banking sector do not bode well for a happy ending.

A few years ago, Dan David, an investor from Philadelphia, decided to check the credibility of a Chinese company whose shares were on the US stock market. As indicated by financial results, she should be a local giant, while observing the factory through a hidden camera showed that only a handful of employees work there. It was only the tip of the iceberg of hundreds of similar cases, the unscrupulous Chinese entrepreneurs, the lack of security of the American system and the unimaginable greed of stockbrokers, bankers, investment advisors, who even today do not have inhibitions before appearing on camera.

Journalists The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal and Bloomberg shed more light on this dark world.
