PSA - Monero CLI Binaries May Been Compromised
It seems that CLI binaries to download from getmonero.org may have been compromised at some point during the last 24h.
Some users noticed the hash of the binaries they downloaded did not match the expected one: https://github.com/monero-project/monero/issues/6151
It appears the box has been indeed compromised and different CLI binaries served for 35 minutes. Downloads are now served from a safe fallback source.
If you downloaded binaries in the last 24h, and did not check the integrity of the files, do it immediately. If the hashes do not match, do NOT run what you downloaded. If you have already run them, transfer the funds out of all wallets that you opened with the (probably malicious) executables immediately, using a safe version of the Monero wallet (the one online as we speak is safe -- but check the hashes).
Ouch lately XMR lost some exchanges over it being to privacy concerned and now this.

XMR wil be the next alt coin to hit 1000 dollars IMO. Similar to what dash did back in 2017. Whales will pump it when/if Bitcoin ever goes back into price discovery mode.
oh the coin itself is amazing especially that you can really hide stuff with it
Nevertheless, in my view, Monero is still the future for money. Ethereum seems to be picking Zcash, but I don't know, I do share the view that optional privacy is likely no privacy at all.
litecoin wants to add mimblewimble but i do not say XMR is bad. just it has a bad run now
