Watch your company

The Germans have a proverb that says, “ When A Dove Begins To Associate With Crows Its Feathers Remain White But Its Heart Grows Black. Often times we underestimate the influence by a company or an association. The kind of company you keep determines the kind of transformation you will have. Evil company corrupts good morals. Wisdom rubs off on those who walk with the wise. Conversely, foolishness transfers onto those who walk with the foolish. It is not about how strong you are, if you keep a bad company, it’s only a matter of time that you will begin to be influenced by them. As a matter of fact, it is easier to be influenced negatively that it is to be influenced positively. That is why is requires extra effort to conquer a bad habit and less effort to be influenced by a bad habit. The interesting thing is that we ourselves often don’t realize the influence on our lives until we are exposed to a different environment. And the reason is because the influence occurs in a subtle and slow fashion. Be watchful!
