GOD'S WORD vs DEPRESSION (my story)

My name is Marxwell. I have a great urge to share my experience here and I hope it'll touch someone's life.


I've been following the community closely since I joined Steemit almost 3 weeks ago.

That's me by the way. Don't mind the height 😀

THE GENESIS

Have you ever been tried and tested?.


Have your faith and patience been put to test?


Have you ever been to the point were you wanted to try another option that wasn't God?

I grew up in Edo-state, Nigeria and seem to have a beautiful plan for my life. I wrote it down and my joy was full..


Soon after my induction into the medical council, my plans were no longer going as planned and getting a place to do my INTERNSHIP proved abortive.


My colleagues were getting space and some are through now as we speak but mine was different.


Didn't know my patience and faith were being put to the test.. God really saves the best for His children and His timing is perfect

God doesn't tempt us but can test and try us till we become refined like fine gold.

My test was upon me and soon I was almost losing the battle.

Why do we face test?.

One question I'm sure we ask very often.


We write exams in school so that we can be promoted to the next phase or class.


Every believer at one point in your life will face tests and it's a sign God wants to take you to the next phase in life.

I didn't know this early enough and soon, I worried myself out, went into my shell and shut everyone out. This experience was just too new to me.


I have never experienced any delay in life and this was different. Then DEPRESSION became my friend

MY ENCOUNTER WITH THE WORD (Testimony)

There's a bigger difference between reading the word and getting the revelation.

Jesus said He's words are spirit and are life making

John 6:63;
The Spirit can make life. Sheer muscle and willpower don't make anything happen. Every word I've spoken to you is a Spirit-word, and so it is life-making.

• Profiting comes by allow the word of God to interprete Himself to you and reading beyond the letters.
  
  
  I personified the word here, because Jesus is the word made flesh.
  
  

John 1:14
So the Word became human and made his home among us. He was full of unfailing love and faithfulness. And we have seen his glory, the glory of the Father’s one and only Son.

I'm going to share with you all 2 beautiful scriptures that saved my life and it's still saving me

The first scripture is 1Peter 5:10 (my favorite scripture till date).

The light I received here, gave me victory over the devil after my Faith.

KJV:
"But the God of all grace, who hath called us unto his eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after that ye have suffered a while, make you perfect, stablish, strengthen, settle you".

• Oh! Thank God for this light. The delay and struggles is JUST FOR AWHILE and not forever. God's word cannot lie.
  
  
• After every test or trial of faith, there's also the promise of Perfection, Establishment, ** supernatural strength** and settlement.
  
  
  An understanding of this scripture soothed all my pains and my countenance changed.

I'm saying to everyone going through similar situations or worse, hold on to your Faith and comfort yourself with the word of God.

The devil is mainly after your Faith (your defense). If he can breach it, you'll be left completely defenseless

Why is the devil is after your FAITH??

(i). If he can get your faith, he has defeated you.

• We live by faith - Hebrews 10:38 (KJV)
  
  

Now the just shall live by faith: but if any man draw back, my soul shall have no pleasure in him.

(ii). We Please God by Faith - ( Hebrews 11:6)

And it is impossible to please God without faith. Anyone who wants to come to him must believe that God exists and that he rewards those who sincerely seek him.

(iii). Your faith is your shield against attacks -
Ephesians 6:16

In addition to all of these, hold up the shield of faith to stop the fiery arrows of the devil.

(iii). Your faith is too priceless and that's why the devil hunts for it tenaciously

• Every good fighter must have a battle plan; which is to weaken the defense mechanism of his opponent; and this will them vulnerable to attacks.

The second scripture is - Isaiah 41:10

Don’t be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be discouraged, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you. I will hold you up with my victorious right hand.

Fear is the fastest route to depression​

God's word addressed the issue here, consoled me and gave me awesome promises too.


Learn to cast ALL your cares upon the Lord

Continuous meditation of these words gave me the much needed victory and God's still blessing me like He promised. Hallelujah!

I hope sharing this will help someone out there or strengthen the faith of someone out there..

God loves you so much and He will give you the best in life because you're constantly in His heart ( His mind is full with your thoughts).
