So i came across this post made by @worldoffootball where he called on everyone interested to make a post and submit an entry into the contest the most memorable football event.
So here is my entry into this contest.

Ever since i fell in love with the game of football, i have witnessed countless memorable football events. Moments i have had to almost shed tears, blood and sweat, lol.

But the most memorable of them all was watching my darling home team Enugu Rangers win the Nigerian professional football league after a 32years draught.

How did it happen

A child birthed in 1984 would be a man of 32 years old in 2016.
32years long years, That was how long it took Enugu Rangers to win the league. As i witnessed it happen i hope to also tell my children i was there to see it happen.

I grew up in the city of Enugu State Capital the home of Enugu Rangers so it was very easy as a child to fall in love with my local team. I mean almost everybody loves Rangers. As a toddler my father who is a big fan of the club would take us to go see home games, he would seat us for hours telling us tales of how Enugu Rangers had dominated the league in his youth. He had told me tales of how the flying antelope had beaten teams from all other African countries in the CAF champions league and how they bagged trophies, tales of how they where feared by all.

All this, seemed like mere tales until i got the opportunity to witness what my father had told me he witnessed when he was a youth. On that faithful year Rangers had a prefect chance to win the league we were topping the Nigerian table with 3 points and a home win would seal the deal after a draught of 32years old.

On that particular day it was as if the gods themselves came down to play with the home team. The stadium was fully packed to the brim, people came from different angle and conner of the country to watch Rangers win the trophy, the air in the stadium was filled with that of joy and hope. It was not long into the game before Rangers opened the scoring chart as Chisom Egbuchulum taped in from close range, at the 64th and 94th minute the legendary striker added to his tally with an hat trick, the crowd went mad. Finally Enugu Rangers are Champions of the Nigerian professional league foe the first time in 32 long years. And i was there life together with other Rangers faithful to witness this history happen.

I was able to capture a picture of when the gods came down to play with the home side, lol.
