After successfully creating a steemit account, a set of keys would be provided to you. You're expected to ensure that you keep those keys protected or secured in other not to lose them.
The keys are;

Master key

Just as the name implies, it is used to generate other keys/passwords or recovery of keys.

It is a powerful key that must be kept safe, because if gained access by another person it can cost one a huge loss including loss of ones account, including money.

Owner key

This key is meant to be stored offline and only used to recover a compromised account as it is seen as the most powerful key.

A key that can change any key of an account, including the owner's key.

Posting key

This key is used for our everyday logins on Steemit site, it's used mainly for contents, voting, resteeming and commenting, editing, follow, deleting, account muting.

Active key

Active keys are very important keys used to perform very sensitive duties such as transfer of funds to another account,

Memo key

This key is used to see an encrypted messages sent privately not only that but also used to send an encrypted messages.

Steemit wallet

This is a place where all the tokens you rewarded with are kept. It is also in steem wallet that actions of powering up and transfer of steem occurs.

Transfer of steem

To transfer your steem all you have to do is;

1 click on Wallet
2 look and click on the drop down menu on Steem and a page like this would appear.

3 On the drop down, click on "Transfer", and after which a page where the name of the recipient would be seen.

How to power up your Steem?

This is used to convert steem to steem power.

To power up steem the following steps should be taken:

1. Click on wallet
   2.select the power up option

3 Input the number of Steem you wish to Power-up. Check below to see the image below

Afterwards click on "Power-up" and here you finish up or finalize with your Active key.
