MY INSPIRATIONS
The interesting thing about role models is that the both of you might have nothing in common, but there's this Force from nature that makes them induce an impact on a particular aspect of your life, might be positively or negatively but that's left for you to choose.
According to the English dictionary, A role model is someone who serves as an example, whose behavior is emulated by others.
Everyone has a role model, oh yes! You have one that you might not even be conscious of, even Jesus Christ is a role model to Christians. I never saw Myself as an artist from the start but I've always loved music, Hip Hop in particular Sometimes when I listen to music I picture myself as the owner of the song and I'll be performing it on stage with lots of fans. Music was like a drug for me that I couldn't help but listen to, I was addicted to Rap music and I always wished I was them. But now things have changed and I can call myself a Rapper that I've always wished for. So today I'll be listing my great role models, the people behind my reason for writing and making music.
The first person that ever inspired my music life is a Ghanaian Rapper, in fact he's regarded as the best Rapper in Ghana.
1] SARKODIE
A Ghanaian Rapper from Tema whose full name is Michael Owusu Addo born on the 10th of July 1988 [29]. we had nothing in common but I was so obsessed with his songs, I loved the way he Jumped on a beat. Although I couldn't hear much of what he was saying when he Raps because he is a very indigenous Rapper so he usually did most of his songs with his local dialect called Twi. He was a very big deal for me, I never joked with him, I had almost all his songs I could get my hands on and I could rap some pretty good, one of my favorite songs of all was Illuminati. I pray one day I get to meet him in person and thank him for inspiring me to become what I am today.
Another great personality who influenced my music career greatly is a Nigerian Rapper, record producer and also the current CEO of Chocolate City record label
2] M.I Abaga
Jude Abaga who goes by the stage name M.I (Mr. Incredible), born in Jos on the 4th of October 1981 [37], but hails from Takum in Taraba state, Nigeria. We didn't have much in common but his style of music made me gain a huge interest in Rap music, his lyrical content is always on point and educative and the way he uses the English language in his songs made him unique. I'm a huge fan of his works, I downloaded every of his songs I could including his albums. His songs always passed a message anf I could always relate with it and that's what music is supposed to be all about, passing a message to the listeners and his style of music made me see Hip Hop from a different perspective and made me want to do music, I'm glad I'm able to do same in my songs too even though I'm still working on it. I pray I get to meet him one day and if possible record a song with him.
The Third great personality on the list who made music my passion is an award winning American Rapper and songwriter
3] KENDRICK LAMAR
Kendrick Lamar Duckworth, born on the 17th of June 1987 [30], raised in Compton, California, United States.
The first ever song of his I listened to was B"tch Don't kill My Vibe and I fell in love with his music instantly, did some look ups and I got most of his songs I could then and even till now I still have his album "Damn" and couldn't stop playing them, I was so obsessed with his music. His songs had the perfect vibe and energy I love. His style of music was unique and special. I pray that one day I'll get to meet him in person.
And lastly, the one who summed it all up! He's the biggest inspiration I've gotten, You might probably not even expect this one, he's a South African Rapper and songwriter
4] Nasty C
Nsikayesizwe David Jr Ngcobo (born 11 February 1997), better known by his stage name Nasty C, is a South African rapper, songwriter and record producer. He grew up in Durban where he was raised by his father. Speaking of having something in common, we actually do, some people even say I look so much like him facially and even in size but I'm a bit taller. It was during the time I got to listen to his songs I made up my mind on doing Music fully! He inspired me more than anyone else the biggest part was the fact that I was even older than him! Oh yeah! And that got me thinking, you're never too young to be a star, if the talent is there you can make it! You just have to believe in yourself. Nasty C to me is like all the others put together in one person, I've heard a couple of his songs but I didn't pay much attention to them until I got my hands on his Mad Over you cover and made me really like his style of music which is actually my style of Rap. I looked him up on Google and I downloaded his last album Bad Hair and that was how this young talented Rapper influenced my music life. If I have just one opportunity to record a song with any of my role models I'll choose Nasty C.
And that's my life for you.
I pray that one day I become a public figure.
