Review: Garmin Forerunner 235

in #review6 years ago (edited)

Hi guys, after using my gps device " Garmin Forerunner 235" coming to three years, its the time I give a in-depth review for this GPS timepiece.

I bought this product in 2017 at RM1500 approximately USD350. This gps watch has built-in heart rate monitor and it is top of it range at that price during that time. This is one of the most popular device among runners.

I only use this device to run, therefore I didnt buy a multisport Garmin watch (swim, run, and cycling) which didnt really served my purpose. It can records 200 activities, and Garmin Connect mobile app can record up to 12 months activity.

This watch is extremely light as if I didnt wear anything at all. The GPS reception is superb and I can customize the interface just by dowbloading some app from Google playstore. The screen is huge which I can monitor the pace, heart rate and time easily just by glancing at it. It comes with an extra strap which I can interchange with the original one.

Battery life is good enough which it only used up around 45-50% after a 42km marathon. So far i had used it for 5 marathons and still looking good and durable. The only set back for this product is that the built-in heart rate monitor is not very accurate. I hope Garmin can improve the sentivity of the sensor in future forerunner series.

Aside from rhat, this product is ideal for any level of runners. The price had dropped to USD290 and is still value to money.

Nice review!

I think most GPS watches are pretty dire when it comes to tracking your Heart Rate; my FitBit Ionic spurts out some ridiculous numbers sometimes! It doesn't concern me as I don't really rely on my HR as a training metric, and I focus solely on my pace.

I agree with u buddy. Suddenly my device shows 185 bpm which i just ran 2km, i thought i got heart attack!!. As runners we dont rely much on heart rate monitor.. we listen to our body..💪💪

I've been considering switching to a GPS watch. But, I seem to get by well enough w/ my Android phone and an additional heart rate monitor chest strap. Just need to get some new batteries.

Chest heart rate monitor is the best according to my runners friends, because the device is placed so near to your heart and it tracked perfectly with every seconds.😊
