This is Syd Barret's first solo album after the departure with Pink Floyd. He just stopped showing up for rehearsals and gigs in the end with Pink Floyd, so they just had to let him go.

Syd Barret struggled a lot with mental conditions, much due to the excessive use of LSD and other tryptamines.

But The Madcap Laughs contains some gems, and not many people know of these.
