Everyone loves TV, well maybe not everyone but I'm sure lots of people likes to see something from time to time. The new generation of kids today don't even know what was it like to have a 50kg+ cold weapon with a remote control the size of a cruise ship. It's funny how I for that matter have no idea how was it like in the days of B&W, so let's discover some facts about our beloved TV.
The invention of the television was the work of many individuals in the late 19th century and early 20th century. Individuals and corporations competed in various parts of the world to deliver a device that superseded previous technology. Many were compelled to capitalize on the invention and make a profit, while some wanted to change the world through visual and audio communication technology. Its creator was John Logie Baird, a Scot born in 1888 - History facts. Its safe to say most people back then had no idea how it all even works. Not even a slight idea.

WRGB claims to be the world's oldest television station, tracing its roots to an experimental station founded on January 13, 1928, broadcasting from the General Electric factory in Schenectady, NY, under the call letters W2XB. It was popularly known as "WGY Television" after its sister radio station. Later in 1928, General Electric started a second facility, this one in New York City, which had the call letters W2XBS and which today is known as WNBC. The two stations were experimental in nature and had no regular programming, as receivers were operated by engineers within the company. The image of a Felix the Cat doll rotating on a turntable was broadcast for 2 hours every day for several years as new technology was being tested by the engineers.
On November 2, 1936, the BBC began transmitting the world's first public regular high-definition service from the Victorian Alexandra Palace in north London. It, therefore, claims to be the birthplace of TV broadcasting as we know it today. Very interesting, "I don't really watch too much TV nowadays, I just watch the numbers." - Conor Mcgregor
