Super Blue Blood Moon
The Super Blue Blood Moon
For any stargazers out there, heads up we have a once in a lifetime astronomical event about occur at the end of January (Jan 31 2018)
It's a combination of several somewhat rare events that will combine to create a situation no living person has ever witnessed
The Super Blue Blood Moon
To break down what it is, I'll give a brief explanation of each phase.
The Super Moon - this is when we have a full moon that coincides with the moon coming to it's nearest point to the Earth in it's eliptical orbit. This is point also known as Perhelion. When this happens the moon appears larger than normal
A Blue moon - this when we get two full moons in one calendar month. This is actually quite common
A Blood moon is when we have a lunar eclipse and the moon appears red when the moon moves into the Earth's shadow - hence the term the Blood Moon.
So it's quite a rare situation on a human timescaleSome religious people are seeing this as a sign of upcoming calmity and disaster and other people are reading all sorts of significance into the event.
I don't know about all that but there does seem to be a lot of turmoil & uncertainty in the world right now coinciding with this event.
Thanks @khufu.
I will definitely be keeping an eye in the sky on that day.
I can feel the nutcase effect starting already.
