Have we all been sold out or am I just a crash test dummy for a new version of steemit that's gradually taking over?

A few days ago I loaded my blog page and ad for Google appeared a few topics down, today I opened my feed and I saw some bimbo with plastic tits staring at me wanting me to join some obscure dating site. I thought the big commercial entities like Google were what this place was set up to oppose, it was portrayed like steemit was fighting the big commercial entities with good will and people power.

This was one of the few websites left that I could visit and not expect to be subjected to some type of commercial mind rape but it seems like that's soon to be a memory and all bets are off. Where does it all end, with ads for vibrating butt plugs shaped like Donald Trump?

I'm starting to feel like Fry from Futurama in that episode where they invaded his dreams with subliminal ads and everyone else thought it was OK. How can we know that this place won't turn out like any newspaper that relies on advertising to stay afloat where anything the advertisers don't approve gets hidden in a dark room and ignored. It could turn out like Youtube where they ban people like Alex Jones for hate speech and let even more psychotic nutjobs have free reign. I certainly don't see eye to eye with Alex Jones on much at all but he should be able to say whatever he wants if this twat can still have a say.
