Letters to No One( Heartbreak)

He said he loved me;
He said I was the best thing that ever happened to him;
He said such words which made me fall for him;
Words which made him my god.
I fell for him,
For his words.
He was the soothing darkness which lived in me;
And the light which glowed in me.
When the sun was couched in a maze of darkness
And the night was piercing cold,
He held me tightly in his arms;
He made me feel warm.
When I was left alone to fight life's battles,
He showed up and fought beside me.
I gave him my heart in a heartbeat,
I gave him the keys to my heart in an impulse
But he threw the keys into the belly of the Atlantic.
When I thought life couldn't be any better,
He left me sprawling back to where I started.
He left me drowning in an ocean of tears.
He built a home in my heart,
And set it afire when I needed it most.
He took my happiness away;
Left me lone like a tear on a desert.
He broke my heart.
