How do you prepare your SUMMER?

Do you feel the summer heat? It’s starting to get warmer. The cool breeze of Christmas is slowly leaving and the heat of summer is surely coming on our way.

We, Filipinos, are very fond of summer. It’s true! Some spend too much for expensive summer vacays and outings. But others still choose to be more practical and do the traditional way. Here’s some activities we can plan on summer.

A D V E N T U R E

Some prefer their summer on activities like mountain hiking, surfing, snorkeling, and biking. These activities are looking forward by young adults for their summer adventures. Summer in the Philippines is fun, a little risky, and totally breathtaking.

F O O D

Filipino delicacies reflect our culture and heritage. It shows how creative and resourceful we are in terms of innovating foods. Some of popular summer foods are halo-halo, saging/mais-con-yelo, dirty ice cream, fruit shakes, sago’t gulaman and many more. I am a food-lover and I eat all of these mouth-watering desserts. That’s why Filipinos still love summer despite the scorching heat.

FAMILY GETAWAY

Every summer, we used to plan going on a family outing somewhere in North (because it’s near Manila) to spend our Holy week vacation since this is the only long weekend season for working parents like me. We prefer beach resorts with swimming pool so the kids will enjoy it more.

B O R A C A Y , A K L A N

The best and most famous beach in Boracay is the White Beach, which has been called the "finest beach in the world.”

E L N I D O , P A L A W A N

El Nido in Palawan is one of the Philippines’ best beaches and island destinations because of its "extraordinary natural splendor and ecosystem."

PUERTO GALERA, ORIENTAL MINDORO

Puerto Galera boasts beautiful white sand beaches that are good for swimming, relaxation, snorkeling, and sailing. It also offers one of the most diverse diving sites in Asia and has the densest population of marine species in the world according to research conducted by the University of the Philippines.

SAMAL ISLAND, DAVAO CITY

Samal island is also known as the Garden City of Samal. It has the distinction of being one of the most developed vacation destinations in the Philippines and has a good number of white and pink sand beaches as well as world-class resorts including Kaputian Beach Resort, the famous Pearl Farm, and the Paradise Island.

CORON ISLAND, PALAWAN

Coron is both the name of an island off the coast of Busuanga and the name of Busuanga’s largest town. Coron Island is inhabited by the Tagbanua people and is a gem of natural beauty with steep limestone cliffs, white sand beaches, and seven mountain lakes.

There are lots of beautiful destinations here in Philippines that you must visit and there are too many to mention. We need Google’s help for a more detailed information.

KID’S ACTIVITIES

There are several activities and workshops that we can offer our children for an exciting summer experiences such as:

Art Camp. Kids who like drawing and painting can enroll in arts and craft classes that hone their skills. These classes will help them become better artists when they grow up.
Cooking Classes. For young ones who are curious about food, there are cooking and baking classes that teach them the basics of culinary arts.
Sports Camp. When we talk about summer camp, sports can’t be out of the list. There are camps that help kids improve their skills in basketball, football, archery, taekwondo, and swimming.
Theater Workshops. If your kids have a talent in acting, dancing, or singing, theater workshops are probably the best for them.
Musical Workshops. Classes that teach kids how to play musical instruments are prolific today. There are lessons for piano, guitar, violin, and trumpet, among others.
Summer Classes. English, Math, and Science are the three key subjects in the Philippine educational system. Help your kids enhance their knowledge in these fields by enrolling them in a summer study camp.
