Greetings, how are you steemit friends? glad to see you again and hopefully healthy always. Today I will return to discuss my knowledge in the field of construction, this is a long thing I leave, even more than one month, hopefully useful.
A few years ago, construction workers have used many methods to facilitate their work, such as fencing to secure the work site from outside interference, they usually build a guardrail at the work site so they can work more comfortably.
The fences that they build can be of different types of materials, I have explained about a fence constructed from barbed wire in a previous post, so at this time we will try to calculate a labor and material needs required for a temporary fence type from other materials.
In some types of buildings, especially buildings to be rehabilitated heavily. Some types of building materials can still be used during the construction of new buildings, such as roofing zinc. Zinc roof (metal roof) covering used as a temporary fence is a type of roof covering commonly used in Indonesia.

Zinc used as a roof cover or also known as a roof covering metal, is a type of roof cover that is considered cheaper, time-saving and lighter to use as a roof cover. This is because the metal roof has a lighter weight than concrete roof tiles, a weight can be 1/10 lighter than concrete roof tiles. [1]
Actually, the metal roof has several types of them and a difference is a type of material it uses. [1]
- Aluminum
- Galvanized
- Zincalume (a mixture of zinc and aluminum)
Construction workers will usually build a temporary fence around the work area before major construction works are undertaken; they will arrange sheet-width metal roofs for the immediate establishment of a temporary fence, this temporary fence uses a relatively cheaper type of wood as a fence frame.
When a construction work is completed, the fence will be demolished and can be immediately built a permanent fence for buildings that have been completed.
How much labor and materials do you need to build a temporary fence from a metal roof with a fence height of 2 meters and a length of 8 meters?
I will try to make a calculation of labor and material requirements to complete the temporary fence work from the metal roof.

However, the current fence made of a metal roof is not only used for temporary fencing on construction works. Many homes in certain areas actually utilize this material and make it a permanent fence.
Metal roofs used as permanent hedges not only use wooden rods as a fence frame, but also many of them use stronger and more durable frame types such as hollow iron with varying sizes. If you use different materials with the above calculation example, then you should modify the technical analysis as a reference calculation of labor requirements and materials needed.
Construction work in certain locations requires constraints with outside areas, in order to avoid undesirable and may endanger workers or other parties while construction work is underway. So now in some areas require an installation of a temporary fence at the location of construction works.
One of the most commonly used materials for construction of fences while at construction sites is metal roofs, metal roofs are used because they have several advantages over other materials such as, easily dismantled and installed, cheap, time-saving and can cover well.

This calculation is only an example and in accordance with the technical analysis of Indonesian national standards, this calculation can be used properly and can be adjusted to a needs of a field.
