Reviewing the Current Options: The Best Way to Get Yourself a Steem Account Today
We are now officially in 2019. If 2018 was the year of the bear, then let’s hope that 2019 is the year that bear goes into hibernation and gives rise to a nice little bull run. I’m not asking for anything too crazy here, just a little momentum to keep us all going!

As we look toward the future of crypto and the Steem blockchain, onboarding becomes a growing concern. How do we get “normies” to join the “crypto revolution”? - Make it easy to sign up and make it plainly obvious why they should sign up, then educate them from there.
Pretty simple, right?
One of the hardest parts about getting a friend or a new acquaintance to join and try the Steem blockchain is starting an account.
If they want their account for free, they’re gonna have to wait for up to 3 weeks for approval from Steemit, inc.
If, however, they are willing to pay a couple bucks for an account, then they can get access to one immediately and even earn themselves some perks in the process. This hasn’t always been a possibility, but every day it seems that new services are popping up that are making it easier and easier to get yourself (or someone else) a Steem account.
In this post, I’ll quickly examine the options that are currently out there.
Blocktrades
Ahh trusty Blocktrades!
Blocktrades has been a favorite of mine for a while. Not just for creating new Steem accounts but also for the amazing services they provide for easily converting crypto.
It's far easier to send some ETH or BTC to blocktrades and have it automatically converted to STEEM and then sent to my account than to use 2 different exchanges and several transfers!
It takes just 6.1 STEEM (or a rough equivalent in BTC/ETH/other crypto) to create a Steem account INSTANTLY on blocktrades. Currently, 6.1 STEEM is only ~$1.7.
There aren't really any perks when it comes to creating a Steem account through blocktrades... It's just reliable, cheap and fast -- but that's good enough for most!
Actifit
This is a relatively new one on the scene. Actifit launched their campaign to onboard new users with some perks for the price of $10.
$10 is quite a bit more than going through blocktrades, but the perks are where the value lies in this one. Yes, you get a Steem account instantly, but you also get a whole lot more. Steem Ninja
This is another service that has popped up in the past few days and I'm glad to see another great service join the mix and add their own perks as well.
"Steem Ninja is a project that provide tools for STEEM. For starters we are providing an account creation system where everyone can buy an account for $2 using credit cards directly. Every new account will receive a delegation of 15SP for 90 days. There is also a Referral Program to incentivize users."
I'm already aware of several other projects/dApps who have announced that they are working on creating a signup service as well.
It's important that we have many portals for people to use to get their account and get their account instantly. I would love to see some someone or some app come up with a way to onboard people both for free and instantaneously.
I feel that it could be possible with some sort of beneficiary reward structure in the future. Time will tell. For now, we still have some amazing options that are both easy to use and instantaneous. No need to wait 3 weeks for an account... Just spend a few bucks and have yourself up and running with a few perks in a matter of minutes!
Hello, thanks for the clues. I created my account using @Steemmonsters. Cost $10 and I got credited 3.513 and a starter pack. So you can say the account was almost free and it only took five minutes to set it up.
Hey! That’s fantastic!! I realize now after writing this post that I missed so many great options for creating an account.. I may go ahead and do a part 2 to this post and list them as well. I’m glad to hear that you went through SM and the process was smooth and beneficial. I’m researching up on that right now!

STOPI provide a service providing STEEM accounts on eBay. I will also be donating all liquid portion of my STEEM rewards to support STEEM projects that foster growth of the STEEM network. I'm not interested in making profits with this, my goal is to make this available to provide options for onboarding. I've also decided not to use upvote services to promote this service. My service is not for profit and I especially don't want to line the pockets of those upvote bot creators.
