First, there is that group of people who just ask directly to be followed by steemit members. If you are asking directly then it is clear that you are desperate for followers.

Upvoting for the sake
Don’t just upvote for the sake of it. First examine whether the steemit member if providing information that you resonates with.

Replying without reading
You are desperate if you just reply to posts without reading the content….till you realized your reply is nowhere close to what has been written on the post. Like another guy I wished a happy birthday and he replied me with; same!!!
