What are dual cameras??
We nowadays see many phones have got dual cameras into and we only knew that this dual cameras enhances our photos but do they enhance and how do they do it we dont know so here is a perfect explanation for stuff.
See nowadays we see that this dual cameras are found in every phones but we will hardly believe that this was started long back ago by HTC and LG in 2011 by there phones that is HTC's evo 3D .
The purpose of dual cameras is different for different manufactures.As for HTC the phone was used 3D mapping and phone was also 3D phone and similar way the purpose of LG phone was differnt too.
So actually this dual lens technology is divided into few types so lets study them.
- Depth sensing:Depth sensing is one of the basic technology in dual cameras in that the depth of the subject is calculated from camera by secondary camera and primary camera does the same job of capturing image.This will help to separate foreground and background of image.After the depth being calculated the processor tries to apply shallow field effect that is as subject and foreground are separated now they it will blur it out all the background thus u will get only depth into subject.
Also it has its own pitfalls sometimes as the subject and foreground cannot be separated so that is also blurs out the edges of subject. This technology is under improvement and will be resolved in future time.
Thia is what we call bokeh effect.
Second way where we can use dual cameras is as monochrome lens this was first seen as huawei P9 where the primary camera does the job capturing image and secondary camera does the work of collecting only black and white imformation no RGB color information is seen here.Seen there are very few things coming into the sensor it can give light and depth to image.Therefore after that we actually combine both image and add and get new quality to image.This actually has no disadvantage as we are not touching or changing anything in original one we just add effect to our original image.
This technology is not widely and one of the rarest technology seen in market.
Third one is wide angle where the primary camera does the same job of capturing image but secondary camera has focal length a bit nearer to lens so that it can give u large area of image without actually moving back that is without moving from ur position u will get good image.
The one more thing we can add is ultra wide angle image quality, ultra wide-angle lens image quality was nowhere near as good as the primary camera and also had significant barrel distortion that made it look like footage from a GoPro. But now after working on it companies are able to solve this issue.
Telephoto lens:Telephoto lens,is a lens which is exactly opposite of wide angle where secondary camera is placed such that it can take 2x optical zoom.
This telephoto lens is best suited for protrait mode than wide angle lens also when applying it with depth sensor makes the things just go to next level.
This technogy is just not advance uptill now but years after years improvement this technology will be just awesome.
