Riding the storm out
There are these days...
Every storm will pass, and the sun will return. But when I am in the middle of the storm and everything looks dark and cloudy, I can't always see that.
I will tell you about my way to look at life and how to get through storms that pass from time to time.
Yesterday evening the rain came and it went away, and then it returned... In the precious moments of sunbeams, the life cycle of nature is pretty much the same as ours. And the rain is not a bad thing at all... Rain gives fresh life to trees, grass and flowers. When the sun finally breaks through the clouds, the shining is stunning to see and we also get hopeful again. Everything starts growing again, even more than before the rain. This works almost like our own crises and meltdowns. It gets dark for a while and then the light returns and we grow a bit.
Go out in the rain!
You might think you need to stay inside when it's raining, but why? I have noticed it's kind of life strategy to avoid storms, I used to do that, a lot... I also tried to avoid my inner storms and just waited for them to die. But I experienced that it doesn't work that way. I learned that I need to face my fears and crisis to be able to reload and continue growing. I need to ride the storm out.
Going out in the rain, what is the worst thing that can happen? You will get wet, yes. Maybe you catch a cold too. However you will also feel relieved and you will also find that the rain and storm isn't as bad as you thought. And the best part:
You will celebrate the sun even more when it returns! Another benefit is that getting inside again after a walk in stormy weather feels very nice!
Embrace every moment
Nature, humans, the universe -I believe that we are an entirety. We all have our storms to ride through. We all have fears and sorrow. Nonetheless life will go on, always, in some form.
One thing I have learned is how fragile life can be and how much suffering there is in the world. Nevertheless I have also learned that this is the reason why I should enjoy every minute of my life. I have learned how to embrace every moment. Stormy days and sunny days and everything in between. As long as I see the beauty and goodness in life, even stormy days, I will continue forward:-) I hope you do too.
Photography -contrast
One important thing in photography is the level of contrast. And I think life is pretty much the same. Contrast gives us perspective and open our eyes to see all shades.

I like your opening line. 'Every storm will pass, and the sun will return'. Storm symbolizes struggle & the sun symbolizes hope or solution to the struggle. And as you have rightly pointed out, the rain or storm is not necessarily a bad thing.
In order to appreciate something good, we need to experience something other than good which the 'binary conditioned' mind immediately labels as bad. Everything in life is not black or white. There are several shades of gray in between. Life is a perfect blend of all that has to be experienced & embraced.
Contrast gives us perspective. I totally agree.
But to a troubled person we must offer words of hope & encouragement. Hence the metaphor of the storm & the sun is perfect at such moments.
