Today we were given a level 2 snow warning which means to stay off the roads unless absolutely necessary.

Level 3 means that all roads are closed and you can get pulled over if you are caught driving on them.

It’s a good thing we have plenty of food and TP as we brave this winter storm. Winds have gotten up to about 15mph as snow is continuing to fall through the morning.

Yesterday I went out with the boys to play, but today it is 14 degrees out and isn’t safe to have their skin exposed to frigid temps.

It’s crazy how almost every year we experience weather like this yet we are still shocked when it happens. The funny thing is, we all still live here despite wild weather patterns.

Perhaps that will change in the near future as new opportunities arise. We may decide to move someplace warmer where we won’t get our driveways blocked by 10 inches of white frozen rain.

Here’s what looking out our kitchen window looks like. A nice display of icicles stuck to the screen...

It’s been nice to lay low and hang out with the fam this weekend. Now that there are 5 of us living in this home, it is starting to get a bit tight as we are running out of space for the boy’s toys and general miscellaneous items without a place to go.

Who knows what Gods plans for us are this year. All I know is that Elias (the baby), is getting close his to mobility stage. Once that happens, pandemonium could ensue.

Anyhow.. hope you are having a blessed weekend, friend. Hopefully you aren’t snowed in like we are and you can enjoy a clear driveway and salt-free roadways. Cheers ✌🏻-Ken

Hello @kenmelendez,

The snow really looks intense. I guess global warming does not affect the cold pattern in your country.

In Africa were I stay, we have no snow, so everything is clear.

Happy Sunday and stay warm.

@yaanivapeji.

Hey Ken! I'm definitely not snowed in like you are. Something like than never really happens in the part of Texas I live in. Once, Roads got so iced over that a warning was issued not to drive at all. It was pretty bad. I lived in an apartment complex and the parking lot was covered in a thick layer of ice.

Sorry to hear that you're snowed in. It is funny how you still stay there despite the weather patterns. I find myself saying the same thing about Texas sometimes lol. I think God has some amazing things planned for your future. You've been on the grind and accomplishing a lot. Keep it up Ken and you already know that you can make it all happen.

Take care! :)

Looks great to me! Glad you got to enjoy some family time. Snowing here too. They shut our freeway down on occasion due to too much snow but fortunately they do not shut our roads around town down no matter how bad it gets. Cheers!

Really that is prob the one thing I really miss about snow a nice day just relaxing and enjoying the day. Have a great one!

It looks like you are facing an extreme winter, coach Ken. Where do you live right now? Cold temperatures are certainly not good for a rheumatic sufferer. But I am sure you have no problem with winter because you are young and very energetic. I have never seen snow here because I live in a tropical country where the intensity of sunlight is evenly distributed throughout the year. We only have two seasons, the dry season and the rainy season.

I'm happy that the Internet is working over there, in spite of the snow storm.

Sometimes it's hard to move, even when there are disadvantages related to our current location.

The capital of the Philippines, Manila, gets 10 to 20 typhoons (a.k.a. Hurricanes) a year, or something like that, and a lot of people still live there, even though it is probably much more dangerous than Ohio.

@dana-edwards wrote an article not to long ago, about the advantages of not owning your home. One of the advantages is that it's possible to move, in the event of a crisis, or in the event of anything that makes it unpleasant to reside there.

It is making me think twice about ever buying a home again, and I am wondering if the money would be better spent in something like REIT's.

Anyhow, great update @kenmelendez, thank you for another great post with your family and kids. It makes me happy to see you on the Steem blockchain 😊

It was during a snow storm last year that I finally took the time to sign up and engage on Steem given the lockdown at our friends house! Sometimes it is good to relax and enjoy the home!
