My adventures in Venice

During my voluntary project in Slovenia, I always wanted to go Venice. I was living in Vipava where the western part of Slovenia. So It was not so difficult to reach from Vipava to Venice. I went there with my Georgian friend two years ago. We didn’t know anything about the city. Where to go ? What to eat ? What to do ? We are like the people who came from coutryside to metropol city. We just know that Venice is a famous city, has nice architecture and beautiful gondolas. We just wanted to discover the city but we didn’t know from where to start .

We ask for recommendation to some random person. She recommend to us some place that we should go by vaporetto ( public water bus). We ask that where can we buy ticket. She said that we can buy ticket insede the public water bus. And then we took the public bus but It was big mistake to take bus without ticket. We shouldn’t have trusted that “pretty” girl. But what to do? We did not know that. Anyway, a ticketman came ask for ticket and we said that we want to buy two tickets. She replied that you can not buy ticket inside the water bus. In that moment, we were fucked up. She was saying that If you don’t have ticket, you have to pay 59 Euro as punisment.

We were shock and we got off in the next station all together. I was explaining the situation to her that we did not know we have to buy ticket outside the water bus but she was trying to not understand and she was repeating the sentence “ you have to pay 59 Euro If you dont have ticket” which was quite annoying after a while. I think, she was like a parrot. Even If we wanted to pay that money, we could not beacuse we were volunteer workers. We did not get paid enough. Somehow, she took just our ID information and she let us to go. In the end, we did not pay even 1 Euro.

Venice is an uniqe city visited by tourists from all around the World. It’s almost impossible to find local people there. I went to Venice two times. The first time I went there, I enjoyed so much but the second time, I did not enjoy so much beacuse this crowded city have started to anoying me. And everthing was so commercial. Even the toilet was 7 Euro.

I think the best part of Venice is Island of Burano. I would highly recommend you to go there If you are planing to visit Venice. This Island famous it’s colorful fishermen’s cottages.

Slovenya’daki gönüllük programı için çalıştığım zamanda, hep Venedik’i ziyaret etmek istemişimdir. Slovenya’nın Vipava kentinde kalıyordum. Venedik’e pek uzak sayılmazdı. Venedik’e 2 yıl önce Gürcü bir arkadaşımla gitmiştik. Şehir hakkında pek bir bilgiye sahip değildik. Venedik’te ne yapılır? Ne yenir ? Nereyi gezmeliyiz ? gibi soruların bir karşılığı yoktu bizim için. Köyden indin şehre gibiydi. Venedik’le ilgili bildiğimiz sadece çok meşhur şehir, harika mimariye sahip ve gondol turlarıyla meşhur olduğuydu. Şehri nereden keşfetmeye başlamamız gerektiğini düşünüyorduk ve rastgele birinden yardım istedim. Tam olarak nereye gitmemiz gerektiğini söylediğini hatırlamıyorum fakat oraya küçük deniz botlarıyla gitmemizi söylemişti. Bileti nereden almamız gerektiğini sordum. Deniz botunun içindeki biletçiden alabilirsiniz demişti. Sonra deniz botuna bindik. Aslında bota biletsiz binerek çok büyük hata yapmıştık. Herneyse, biletçi geldi ve bize bilet sordu. Bizde 2 bilet almak istediğimizi söyledik. Kadın, bize burada bilet alamazsınız dedi ve biletiniz yoksa 59 Euro ödemek zorundasınız dedi. Gerçekten berbat bir durumdu. Bir sonraki durakta indik ve ben bu yaşadığımız durumu anlatmaya çalıştım. Botun içinde bilet alabileceğimizi felan biliyorduk dedim. Kadın anlamamakta ısrarcıydı ve sadece aynı cümleyi defalarca tekrarlıyordu. “ Biletiniz yoksa, 59 Euro ödemek zorundasınız” papağan gibi bunu defalarca tekrarlıyordu. Bir süre sonra gerçekten sinir bozucu olmaya başlamıştı. O, parayı ödemek istesek bile ödeyemezdik çünkü biz gönüllü çalışanlardık. Çalıştığımız projeden pek fazla para kazanamıyorduk. Ama gel görkü bunu İtalyan hanım teyzemiz anlasın. Bir süre bu tartışmayı yaşadıktan sonra, kadın bizim sadece kimlik bilgilerimizi aldı ve bizi azat etti. Ama en sonunda 1 Euro bile ödemeden oradan kurtulduk.

Venedik Dünyadaki benzersiz şehirlerden bir tanesi. Dünyanın her yerinden turistler ziyaret ediyor. Venedik’te yerli birini bulmak gerçekten çok zor. Neredeyse herkes orada turist. Venedik’e 2 defa gittim. İlk gittiğimde gerçekten çok keyif almıştım fakat ikinci kez gittiğimde ilk gittiğim tadı alamadım. Gerçekten çok kalabalık ve şehir inanılmaz pahalı, WC bile 7 Euro idi.

Bence Venedik’in en güzel yeri Burano adasıydı. Venedik’e gitme planınız varsa, oraya gitmenizi kesinlikle öneririm. Ada, rengarenk boyanmış balıkçı evleriyle meşhur.
