Morality

Morality is the human attempt to define what is right and wrong about our actions and thoughts, and what is good and bad about our being who we are. What is right for me, It might be not right for somebody else. What is wrong for me, it might be not wrong for somebody else. So, I think morality is quite relative concept. For some people, it is okay while it is not for others. Today, I am gonna talk about morality.

Is it possible to live a moral life without religion?

Most of the people's morality is based on religion in the world . Especially, where I live , in Turkey. Most of the people are extremely conservative here. In my country, some people even considering immoral if women raise a laugh in society or If they wear mini skirt. It's hard to believe but they think like that. People shouldn't be judged easily for such a ridiculous moral values. If religious people define ‘moral’ like that, then I think morality absolutely shouldn't be connect with religion. Otherwise that's quite nasty moral. However, there are many immoral religious people and many moral people who are not religious and vice versa.

Religious has some good rules to follow but I am not religious person and I believe that we can have good morals without religion. It's a personality issue, It should not be connected with religion. We probably had morality long before the current religions came along. Before religion people created religion for a set of rules on morality. So, religion is not strictly needed for morality.

I tried to explain my opinion about morality. I hope you liked while you are reading my post. I would like to see your comments as well. What do you think about morality ? Do you think that can a person be moral without religion? Thanks for reading.

Stupid man made concepts to divide and conquer. No need for religions.

I couldn't agree more. Thank you for your comment and upvote🙂

I think that morality is a survival strategy that human beings evolved out of a need to cooperate and play nice, which gave them an evolutionary advantage and helped them form complex societies.

I agree with you that it is a relative term, morality. But when we talk about very common ones like honesty it will make a difference to have faith or not. Is either someone has faith (In god, creator, all that is, smart energy) regardless the label of religion Jew, Christian, Muslim, Hindu …etc or be an atheist (No God, not even smart, aware and benevolent universe) or be ignorant and say who cares. If an atheist believes in evolution and selection of the strongest, smartest, most adapting … then he must have no murals nor ethics (like helping a poor or a homeless or being honest), because these concepts are in conflict with evolution. And if he does have morals and ethics, then he has issues with his/her belief system. In other words he believes in evolution but does not practice it. There is no reason to stop him from cheating, steeling, or committing any thing to elevate himself unless he believe being honest is the best way to go for him. The only reason he would not deceive is the law and being afraid of getting caught and punished.
