How to build self-discipline ?
Self discipline is about handling temptations. So you can get a bigger reward in the future. The better you get at say no to short term little rewards at the expense of more substantial delayed gratification the more self discipline you become. One of the best self discipline exercises is to "do it now". Imagine you have finished eating your dinner you look at the dishes that need washing and say to yourself I want to finish watching my TV series I'll wash them later. You should stop that and "do it now".
Sometimes it's really difficult to maintain self discipline. So, today I am going to give you some tips about how to build self discipline.
Prepare your weapon
The first you can do is to prepare your weapon who controls your life is it your mind or is it you ? Whenever you want to do something your mind will come up with a million excuses no, I shouldn't go to gym today my body is so tired I need to rest. For some reason your mind is programmed to keep you in the safe zone and it doesnt like the idea that you want to do something else. If you listen to your mind all the time you are a slave. You become lazy and can't make your own decitions. So, be aware of that and decide to take control of life.
Set short term goals
The second tip I'll give you is to set short term goals. If you only look at the bigger picture at the final result that you are willing to get it may seem frightening and unachievable it may threaten you so much that you wouldn't even want to do anything. Only thinking these huge tasks make you want to run away. So, you need to create a detailed plan. Of course, there is this huge thing you want to accomplish. Let's say you wanna learn how to produce electronic music there is so much to learn how do you even start? If you have a plan it's so much easier. You can prepare some video playlist to teach the basics for beginners and save them as web page bookmarks. It's a lot easier to be disciplined when you have a plan. Because if you don't have a clue what to do you end up confused.
Remove distractions
The third thing I would recommend you is remove distractions. Nowadays it seems everyone has issues with attention and concentration where used to be distracted all the time messages, notifications, phone calls. It's so hard to focus on one thing and we get bored way too easily. Consider changing your lifestyle habits if you can't concentrate, it means you are doing something wrong. Spend less time on social media, put your phone away from you during the day, turn everything off when you are doing that demands your full attention and limit your television time. Do activities that will help you improve your concentration.
Just start
The beginning is usually hardest part. Don't make the mistake and wait till you feel like it because you probably won't. After you start, it's easier to continue you enter stay to flow. Do everything you can help get started. set up your environment, prepare your tools. If you want to go to gym on a regular basis, set a day and time you are going every week and edit your schedule, make it something you can't cancel no matter what. It will get you committed.

So true, thanks for posting this!
This is a never-ending task. Even once you build self-discipline, you then have to exercise that self-discipline every day.
It's important to keep in mind the big picture and remind yourself of the reward you are building up to, the reason for your delayed gratification.
