Buddhist Stupa in Colorado

Hey guys, I just wanted to share my Buddhist retreat at the Shambhala Mountain Center in Colorado. I love getting away for a few days and clearing my mind at retreats. These places are always filled with wisdom and people that are very inspiring, kind and understanding. I highly recommend it if you're feeling in a rut or dissatisfied with life or even if you're just curious about Buddhism. The great thing about Buddhism, is it's not a dogmatic religion, but more of an ancient philosophy for life. So you can be Atheist, Christian, Muslim etc. and still consider yourself Buddhist.

The reason that this particular center drew me in, is the beautiful and amazing The Great Stupa of Dharmakaya. It is a meticulously crafted construction. There isn't anything else like it in the US and was amazing to see up close.

Inside the Stupa was amazing detail wherever I looked.

Also inside, there were meditation pillows for passersby and among them a massive Buddha statue.

This trip was amazing. Being that everyone is constantly surrounded and bombarded with technology and social media, I decided to turn my phone on airplane mode the entire time that I was there. This way, I could still take pictures on the beautiful scenery but also go without Pandora, Instagram, texts, phone calls, everything. i just wanted to be submersed in the moment and stillness in the mountains of Colorado. It was very peaceful and relaxing. The time that I spent on my phone, I instead spent reading, meditating and walking in nature. Everyone at the center was so nice and welcoming.

Being that I live in Vegas, it was the opposite setting and just what I needed to escape the fast lane and slow down and unwind.
