WHY IS IT CALLED "GOOD FRIDAY"

This is the question that woke me up today. Good Friday 2018 is on the 30th of March and it's a very special day set aside to celebrate the victory on the cross.

Good Friday is a national holiday for Christians. A day that is set aside to commemorate the crucifixion of Jesus Christ on the Cross at Calvary. It is the Friday the proceeds Easter Sunday. Generally, Bible says that Jesus Christ willingly sacrificed himself for our sins on this day. So it was a mourning day for all the Christians where they spend the day with worship services, prayer and vigil services, fasting, almsgiving and more.

Along these lines, we may get the uncertainty why this terrible day is viewed as "Good" in light of the fact that, Good Friday is a day of the Holy Week where Jesus Christ was executed, and the torturous crucifixion of Jesus Christ is the most noteworthy occasion of Christianity. Originating from the stance that Christianity is valid, this makes the torturous crucifixion of Jesus Christ the absolute most imperative occasion in all of history.

And the Bible record thus that when Jesus Christ died on the cross, he:

having canceled the charge of our legal indebtedness, which stood against us and condemned us; he has taken it away, nailing it to the cross. (Colossians 2:14) NIV
And having disarmed the powers and authorities, he made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them by the cross. (Colossians 2:15) NIV
"He himself bore our sins" in his body on the cross, so that we might die to sins and live for righteousness (1 Peter 2:24) NIV
He crushed the head of the serpent (Genesis 3:15)

and much, much more.

Good Friday is trailed by Easter Sunday, where the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the death had happened so people savor the return of Jesus to the Earth after painful death as a Victory over death and over the enemy.
