Introducing Myself to Steem & Sportstalk

Good day to everyone on steem and sportstalk. My name is David. I've been looking at places to write stuff about some of my hobbies, but Football/Soccer in particular. A colleague of mine who is a cryptocurrency enthusiast let me know about Steem and its blockchain and then as well about its inner areas I understand to be known as tribes, but sportstalk in particular. I was quite enthusiastic to hear about it and now to give it a go. I also found actifit to be a very intriguing idea I also noticed upon glancing the site. So that's what drew me here and I could see how others could follow.

My life has been split between New York and London but I reside most of the time in New York these days. I am a big fan of New York area sports teams and in Football, Manchester United. The reason for Manchester United and not a London team is that I always played on the left in my youth because I am a lefty and was half decent at crossing the ball and this made me a huge fan of Ryan Giggs. In turn I became a Manchester United fan. Because football is the sport I actually played the most it also is the one I follow the most. The one good thing about saying I'm a United fan these days is that people don't assume as much I'm a bandwagon fan anymore because the bandwagon fans left awhile ago now. I'm still here despite the ship sinking. The ones left are in most cases real fans now. I expect to walk down the streets of New York and see more Liverpool jerseys than United ones this weekend when it used to be the exact opposite. A real indication of just how much things have changed.

I take another good thing out of United's falling results post- Sir Alex. It has given me a bigger perspective on football as a whole. I started watching way more football than I used to. Back in the good old days when Ronaldo played for United I was guilty of only really watching United and Chelsea (Hoping they'd drop points) but not much else. United no longer challenging for titles made me start watching way more teams. It's gotten to the points where I watch almost every team here and there, even the relegation fight. I became an Atletico Madrid fan because David Moyes began the stairway to hell and I fancied going for a team that could take down the perennial empires of Real Madrid and Barcelona. I've started watching La Liga a lot more since even though the feat wasn't replicated. I became a fan of Borussia Dortmund for the same reason. Taking down the empire that is Bayern Munich. Jurgen Klopp is difficult to go against as well. As much as I can't stand Liverpool, I have to say I like Klopp and his style. I never really got into Serie A to be completely fair. But I would like to see someone other than Juventus win. Can't stand PSG either. It delights me when they choke every year in the Champions League. That's what you get for not facing good enough competition week in and week out like the rest. Even United can come back and beat you, let alone Real and Barca.

Internationally I am a fan of the USA, Ireland, and England. I was always in London for World Cups and Euros. I never understood why taking a penalty was so hard until I had to take one myself in a playoff I was playing. Then I understood completely what was in England players heads. And there is always extra pressure knowing it's the achilles of the national team.
