Updates on Current Manga #3

in #manga7 years ago (edited)

Following up on last week's manga, I haven't added anything new to the list, since I was away on a 5-day trip.

BUT!
I definitely made time to update on the manga I'm following.
Probably next week, I will try to add more to the list, but first I'm gonna have to find one good for reading. :P

So, for this week, we have:
-One Piece (886)
-Shokugeki no Souma (241)
-Skip Beat! (253)
-Baby Steps (304)
-Relife (207)

In One Piece, they finally finished the base of the cake they're making for Big Mama and they're on their way to meet up with the other Straw Hats. Everything is ready, the chiffon base, the decorations and icing, and all else they need, they just have to transport the cake already. Most of the townspeople were praising the scent of the cake. Alas!, they are stopped by Oven. He hasn't recognized Sanji just yet, but Chiffon is totally not getting past him. Pudding tries to tell him that they need her for the cake, but to him, Chiffon is simply a traitor to Big Mama. Sanji contemplates saving Chiffon, but does not want to put Pudding in a tight spot. He was given a momentary chance to save Chiffon by Chiffon's father who came rushing to attack Oven, despite not really being able to attack. Sanji's stealth attack was so fast, that everyone else thinks it was Chiffon's father, but Oven knows it's not, though he has no idea who did it. (Sanji is awesome! :D) Pudding definitely is smitten by Sanji's awesomeness. XD And it is interesting to know that Chiffon has no idea that the guy was her father. Despite being saved though, she is found by Oven again and was used to threaten Bege. And Bege (who would have thought he totally loved his wife?) declared to Oven that he will disembark towards them so he shouldn't hurt his wife anymore. From miles away, Oven is shot in the face by, you guessed it, Bege. :D Trouble is totally brewing on this end. Let's see how they fight it out in the next few chapters.
Meanwhile, Luffy is still using Brulee as his escape method (XD), transferring from mirror to mirror. Brulee wonders what he is trying to do, to which he answers that he is trying to weaken Katakuri. Following up on what I said last time about when he would start eating to win, I realized that he already had eaten mochi in his battle with Katakuri, and he himself expressed this similar sentiment. Remembering what he was taught about haki, now he wants to learn how to see a glimpse of the future in order to surpass this enemy who has a bounty of 1 billion. We now see the start of how Luffy will win by gaining another haki under his arsenal.

As for Shokugeki no Souma, things are getting interesting here. It's always nice reading the backstories of characters. I love those parts. They give insight as to why a person became the way they are. I must say, Saito's backstory is... the part about his mom being treated like that is awful. I mean, what do you mean women not allowed in the kitchen?!!! lol. But the part of him about him being good enough to defeat all his enemies seem like an unnatural slope for growth. Like, how? What happened? He can't get that good that fast. That's what I think. There was no indication that he was a gifted chef. If anything, all I'm sensing from him and his past battles is that he is currently greatly experienced and I get that. But in his backstory, he was much younger. Just a middle schooler, so he couldn't have been in the elite 10 yet, hence, no access to privileges yet, hence my question regarding his cooking skill growth spurt.
Anyway, Saito has unsheathed his sword, in this case, the fish, with the butter as the scabbard.
saito dish
His dish is exquisite, judging by the judges' reactions. Though, I'm pretty sure Souma is set to win this one. I have no idea how, yet though, but that's what makes the manga interesting. The rebels are clearly underdogs who are constantly creating ways to grasp their victory. It's already a given that the last battle will involve Tsukasa and Souma. Erina is probably gonna be there too, and so is Rindou. But who else, I'm not quite sure yet. Let's see how this arc escalates. :D

Noblesse is not looking too good right now. I'm talking about Rai himself and not just the manga. Trouble is brewing. And I don't even know what kind since I don't know what the first and third elder are capable of. They might just be after the nobles and werewolves, but Rai isn't completely unrelated to either of them, so he might just get involved in another fight. And here I thought it was just Crombel, but now this. Crombel is so shocked about the whole first elder thing, and how the guy knows everything Crombel has just recently been researching on. The guy's good at keeping tabs. Or maybe it was the third elder spying for him? Anyway, Rai is still just recovering from the lost of a dear friend, who is currently still alive but not quite. Lunark finally came into contact with Frankenstein. To be honest, I don't how this is gonna go. If Franky goes with her to Muzaka, who's gonna look after Rai? I know the others are there, but Franky is special. He's the most powerful of them all, and completely devoted to Rai. So I'm thinking, maybe they should bring Muzaka over to him instead, but then, I don't think it would be a good idea for Rai to see Muzaka in this state. Maybe he's just gonna keep bouncing between his lab and their lab. I just hope he won't forget to keep tabs on Rai, since the upcoming trouble might be bigger than what they've gone through before. Rai just can't take a break. :<

And now we have Skip Beat!. This wasn't in last week's update simply because there was no update yet, but now, here it is~~ Kyoko was totally shocked by the loud gossiping of Erika's two lackeys. Moko-chan on the other hand, doesn't want to get involved with them, probably recalling unpleasant memories about Erika. Moko-chan suggests Kyoko to talk to them and find out everything they know since they seemed to know a lot about the relationship between Ren and Kimiko (non-existent relationship, you mean! There's nothing! Nothing! She's using making it sound much more than what it is. Annoying girl) Anyway, the two finally managed to clear that out for Kyoko, by which she now has a scary expression on her face. I wonder what's going through her head?
Meanwhile, Kimiko is surrendering?!! I can't believe it! Not this girl. She's probably up to something bad again, like maybe endangering Kyoko this time. This girl is evil. She is cold-hearted and does not know how to give up. kimiko
As for Erika who was on-site, one of the producers found her upon the request of her father who was the president. He walked in while Erika and one of her lackey were talking about Kimiko's long conversation with those inside, and he informed them that she was giving up. I think Erika senses that something is off about Kimiko giving up. And I think that the favor she's going to ask her lackey is to guard Kyoko. I hope so! then again, Kyoko looks so dangerous right now that maybe she doesn't need it? Who knows, she might even be able to change Kimiko's twisted personality by her earnest words. She's done it with Erika before. Anyway, the next update's gonna be in Dec. 20, so it'll be a while until this appears in my updates again, but I'm definitely keeping tabs on it. :3

Baby Steps has also updated. Ei-chan is still up against Asano. He is having trouble with the different slices that Asano is using. The two of them seem to be the same type: Technical players. Though I think Ei-chan definitely has better technique and precision, but Asano beats him in the experience department. Ei-chan mixes his play with technique and power to keep his games. Though, since Asano is also really good, they are at 2-2 now. Let's see who will break first in their game. I just know Ei-chan is gonna win though, for the same sentiments I expressed last time this was on my updates: that if he doesn't win, the manga will end. XD Still, watching him grow and develop more techniques and improving his style is fun. With Ei-chan, statistics really help him go against his enemies. He's good at watching how they play and creating a counter-plan against them. Sometimes it's trial and error, but once he gets enough data, things fall into place. He has the power and technique to counter them, and by mixing those two up, combined with executing his plans, he is able to win against even tough opponents. He's yet to win against those his age at the top of the tennis world right now though. He'll get there, with Natsu of course. :3

And of course, my current favorite, Relife. It's time for their trip now. Ohga and Kariu were late, and Kaizaki didn't waste the chance to get back at them for making fun of him last New year's shrine visit. Kariu blames Ohga for being tired. When Kaizaki hands them the details for their trip, they are surprised at how detailed it is but finally understood why when they found out that Hishiro helped in planning it. They rode the train to fureai park, and took pictures with the animals there. After that, they went to an amusement park and rode rides. Kaizaki ponders about the fact that he used to be able to ride the roller coaster just fine back when he was younger, but now... XD He passes on the chance to ride the coaster a second time with the others, and Yoake stays with him. He has another meaningful conversation with Yoake about how thankful he is for his relife. He tells Yoake he finally understood the purpose to relife. About how the time is short, but that's precisely why it's important. Even a short time can teach you a lot.
relife
He regrets his initial approach to relife where he was simply rushing through it and trying to stay clear of everyone. Yoake responds by telling him that everyone becomes an adult eventually, and that everyone loses the spark that once made them shine in the past, and spending time with high school students helps remind them reignite the spark they once had. Kaizaki tells you Yoake that Relife brought back all the wishes and desires he had and high school and how it has encouraged him to keep trying. It is actually a very emotional chapter for Kaizaki once again as he reminisces about all this. It's their graduation trip, so no doubt, he is feeling sentimental about all this. Kinda makes you wonder if someday, they would end up working together, these guys and him. We really can't tell what's gonna happen to them. Anyway, i'm on my toes about what's in store for Kaizaki and Hishiron when their relife ends.

I'm probably gonna leave Haikyuu for the update next week since I haven't gotten around to catching up on my backlog there. As for the Pokemon I've been rereading, I'm continue on that next week too. The trip I went on didn't really give me much time for reading.

These are all my updates for now.

Looking out for more awesome manga out there :3
Drop me message if you have any suggestions. ^^

Til next update~~
