Thanks to a generous donor - lots of full bellies this week!

in #pets4 years ago

We had some pretty tough days in the past month. The money was drying up and all of our volunteers were digging into their own pockets to get through the lean times in order to feed the masses of stray dogs and cats in the Krabi and Ao Nang areas of Thailand.

At the 11th hour a kind donor, who wished to recieve no recognition for their efforts, granted us a rather sizeable donation to our "food bank" and we immediately swung into action.

Just like anywhere else, the quarantine efforts in Krabi, Thailand has resulted in the closing of many businesses. One of the main places that stray dogs go to in order to find food is markets and outdoor eateries where they get the scraps from customers. These have all been shut and many of these dogs don't know where else to obtain something to eat.

Krabi Animal Welfare to the rescue!

While we do get some odd looks and even threatening glances from officials, we are able to get out there and feed these poor souls and the level of gratitude on their cute faces is all the reward that a person who thinks as we do needs.

Most of these girls and boys gobbled up the food immediately and we will be returning for as long as we can to continue to see to it that they get something to eat during the lockdown period.

These are difficult times for everyone and the homeless pups and cats are not an exception. Their already difficult lives are further complicated by the fact that tourism, which was a big source of our donations, has completely disappeared and will likely remain that way for a while.

It's because of donors like the group that came through at what appeared to be the 11th hour, that we were able to offer this lifeline to our four-legged friends on the streets.

Thanks to everyone who has supported us - we couldn't do it without you.
