Bass Players?

I am mostly a musician... with a restaurant slave fall back...
Any other players here?

I am a bit old school.. no effects, four strings... tube amps...
I like the way an Ampeg starts to break up with a little distortion when you really start raking the strings, but sounds so full and clean when played gingerly... I tend to bias the power tubes on the hot side... so tube replacement is an ongoing cost.
