Bizarre Ways You're WASTING Money!

Sometimes we are so focused on our daily coffees, and other daily habits that we have, That we overlook the things that are costing us money.

Buying cheap stuff

By "cheap" I'm not refering tho the price. Cheap as in quality.
When you purchase low-quality goods, You will wear them out faster and be forced to replace them sooner. This will add up quickly over time.
Unless you are only going to do something once, IN your life. Buying a cheap item usually isn't the best way to go. And if you are only going to do it once, Sometimes renting/borrowing can be cheaper.
So don't be afraid to spend a little more on a new jacket, Or shirt. If you know it's going to last a while. This is one reason I love T Shirts so much, Because they last a long time but are reasonable in price.
Quality over Quantity!

Buying Sale Items

Looking at the sales rack can be fun, WE can get things DIRT CHEAP. But this can end up costing us a lot of money, Did we intend to buy that item? If it's not something you're going to use, Don't buy it.
Just because the tag says: "Save 5.00" Doesn't mean that you saved 5.00 if you haven't used it. You spend the amount the item cost; you didn't save any money. You spent money.

Declutter

Decluttering is one of my favorite things in the world. Because you can no longer lie to yourself on what you are using and what you aren't. You are forced to see exactly what has been used, and whats was collecting dust in the corner. You should declutter regularly as a way of saving money. If you don't use that pasta sauce, you keep buying. DON'T BUY IT!
I have this problem with alcohol sometimes. It's kind of funny because I'm so excited that I'm now old enough to drink (I'm 24).
That whenever I see something that looks yummy. I buy it.
I put it in my closet... And then I start decluttering, And I found a HUGE stash of untouched alcohol.

I've realized while stuff looks good, I shouldn't buy it. Because I won't drink it. Especially as I start incorporating more and more healthy habits in my life, Alcohol is something I avoid completely.
So Instead of wasting my money on that stuff, I could save money by not buying it. And maybe once in a while, If I'm at a restaurant, I can order a yummy looking drink.

It's funny how we buy something, Thinking we'll use and enjoy it, But it often left forgotten.

OMG this is perfect XD

You have some very good tips. I like the decluttering one. Sometimes I can buy another item, cone to find out I've duplicated the item cause I haven't organized enough.

I make this mistake sometimes as well LOL! I hate it when that happens.

So true! I'm forever telling my girlfriend to stop wasting money on stuff that she won't use. She must get it from her mum, because she's in a league of her own. Exactly what you said though, because it's discounted you are NOT saving money, you are SPENDING MONEY!!! :*D
Good post @kaylinart

EXACTLY! LOL people love to shop, It's just so fun I guess LOL. Thank you.

Nooooo no no shopping is the devils work! But im a guy i would say that of course!

Exactly!! I like to shop, BUt I stop myself LOL

Good, logical points @kaylinart
Exactly the type of posts you don't seem to see on other platforms.
As a society we're constantly inundated with the message that our meaning is determined by our "stuff".

Thank you :) It's so true! Stuff really doesn't mean anything

This is so true; I bought a desktop in 2007 FULLY loaded with what was available at the time. Today 10 years later I still have it working perfectly, whilst my brother has gone through already 5 laptops.

@indepthstory

No matter how good that desktop was back in 2007, i would not like to use a 10 year old PC. AND I can hardly imagine an exception. IMHO those preferences are so much personal

Always buy top notch ;) Never settle for less!

Exactly!

That's true! My dad used to buy old, cheap and used stuff and had to get a "new" one in a no time, instead of buying something more expensive but with much more durability.

I just bought a rainbow fidget spinner on amazon for $5. It's probably going straight into the drawers after a month, but I would pay $5 once for consistent entertainment for a month, wouldn't you? Just look at the rewards of small purchases, even if the quality is low!
