Glassful allows subscribers to choose the amount of bottles of white and red wine they wish to receive in each box (all white-colored, for example, or 2 white wines and 1 red), but that bottles are always a delight. I’m pretty openminded when it pertains wine, so I was excited to find what Glassful would pick with regard to my first shipment!

The first bottle I received can be a red blend from Sonoma State, California. It’s a Bordeaux merge, and the inaugural release from this wine (2007) received a large 95-point rating from Wine Lover. The “Sommelier Notes” for the following wine describe it as “showing bright cherry and cassis relating to the nose, with hints of violet, cigarettes, leather, and dark chocolate. ” While it’s fine to tell you lot more this wine now, Glassful’s sommelier recommends aging it just the summer years. I rarely earmark containers for aging, but I’m visiting give it a shot with this particular one!

The next bottle inside my shipment is from Oakville, situated California’s Napa Valley. Unfortunately, Chardonnay is among the most few wines that I quite often don’t like. I don’t head a crisp, un-oaked Chardonnay, but oaky and buttery Chardonnays don’t fascinate me. According to the sommelier paperwork, this one has “subtle oak” flavor that “rounds out your wine and doesn’t dominate it. ” It’s also referred to as having “rich notes of gemstone fruit, apple and rose petals relating to the nose with some… spice paperwork. ” Still, I think I’m going to retain this bottle for when May possibly Chardonnay-loving friends over for evening meal. It sounds like a terrific wine, but I’m afraid it's going to lost on me.

This is usually another Napa wine. (Glassful stocks wine from around the world in their shop, so I think it’s just a fluke that the different bottles I received this 30 days are from Napa and Sonoma. ) Pinot Noir is usually a welcome sight in wine boxes (it’s considered one of my favorites! ), and this did not disappoint. It was very fruity (lots with berry and plum flavors) and had a good all round earthiness that balanced out that fruit. I served it using homemade eggplant pizza, and the idea paired beautifully.

Verdict: This is usually my first box from Glassful, and I’m extremely impressed with the products the wines I received. That Pinot Noir was delicious, together with I’m excited to age that Terra Bella Blend. (We’ll see if I can take off opening it for two years! ) The only miss to do is the Chardonnay, but this also sounds like a solid your wine. It might be nice if Glassful allowed want you to customize your shipments (to make certain you don’t receive varietals you don’t enjoy), but I also love that every box is some sort of surprise. I suppose I’ll wait another shipment or two to find if oaked Chardonnay pops in place regularly. If so, I may well always try re-taking the questions. I should also mention that value of the bottles I received is incredibly impressive. $100 of wine within a $54 box? Wow. I can’t wait to find what I receive in my own next box!
