One of the Most Expensive Meals I've Ever Had...Part 2
At Ginza Ukai Tei in Tokyo, it was time to take a seat at our table and enjoy a delectable meal! We were welcomed with custom fabric napkins.
We sit at a round table, and the chef stands in the middle with a large grill surrounding him. In the center is an embellished mosaic with fresh vegetables laid over an ice bath.
We look through the menu, and decide to start with a nice wine. All prices are listed in Japanese yen.
We order a red wine. Sorry, I don't remember the name! Very tasty though :)
And beside it was a nice touch, a red rose inside of a small glass.
As we await our food to be prepared, we take a look around the restaurant at the beautiful chandeliers, which look like falling tulips.
And we gaze at the chef helping guests.
With it being lunchtime, tables begin to fill up.
And our first entree is served, a beef pudding. It tasted like fat from a steak in a puree form.
Our next course is a fresh salad with arugula, red onion, and radish.
The chef next throws down some scallops. He seasons them with a little salt and pepper.
Soon it is time to flip them over, and the chef uses two spatulas for this.
And it's a success!
He transfers them to two soup bowls, and serves them with a ladle of bisque.
And here is the final presentation ready to eat.
Stay tuned for next time when our talented chef fires up this juicy steak!
