The movie "Get Out" is the first of many as Peele preps next thriller

Jordan Peele has stated he was concerned about creating a racially divisive movie and that he worked to prevent this perspective from developing. According to Peele, the "power of story" helps bring people together rather than divide. He feels that his truth as a black man had yet to be portrayed adequately on film, so he took up the challenge himself. This first film of a coming series was meant to help fill the void in conversations about race. His goal was to capture parts of conversations about race that he hasn't seen represented on film before.

The movie "Get Out" is a horror film even though the Golden Globes considers it as a comedy. The film was submitted to the Golden Globes as a documentary. Why would anyone in the film industry consider it a comedy or horror? As spoken by the film's creator, the film is focused on subtle racism that people deal with on a daily business. Peele gave the keynote speech at the 2017 Film Independent Forum stating, "I have to write my favorite movie that doesn't exist".

It’s ironic that every great writer seems to have issues with writing.

“I haven’t had writer’s block. I think it’s because my process involves writing very badly.” – Jennifer Egan

“Writing a book is a horrible, exhausting struggle, like a long bout of some painful illness. One would never undertake such a thing if one were not driven on by some demon whom one can neither resist nor understand.”
—George Orwell

“We are all apprentices in a craft where no one ever becomes a master.”
—Ernest Hemingway

Peele says he uses fun to get rid of writer's block and suggests that other writers and creatives do the same to stay productive.

The movie “Get Out” is potentially an award-winning film. It’s up for Best Picture for an Academy Award. The film did well financially too. It had a $4.5 million budget and earned $253 million.

Peele has held off for more than a decade on becoming a filmmaker, though this was always his goal. He's said that he "got sidetracked with an amazing, fortunate comedy career". After a decade of making people laugh, Peele says he has something more important to say.

The newfound film director has revealed that he's not done stirring the pot. Peele has an entire series of social thrillers which are yet to be released. He's stated that he will be releasing the films over the course of the next decade. It looks like Jordan Peele is giving us a lot to look forward to as a director. According to Peele, humans are the best and scariest monsters in the world. Each film he releases will deal with a different kind of "social demon".
