❤️ Thank You Steemit! We Raised $628 USD to help save an Elephant in Thailand! ❤️

Hi friends! First off, I just want to apologize for taking so long to give you an update about the elephant donation charity post I made about a month ago! I was waiting for Bitcoin to rise a little before pulling the money out for the donation! It turns out, Nature Reserve Forests, was unable to accept Bitcoin, so I had to convert it to cash for them. Shout out to @earworm for helping with that. :)
For those of you who may not have seen the last post, you can check it out here. To summarize, all profits made from that post were donated to Nature Reserve Forests to help them rescue an elephant and plant over 1 million trees this year! This was a non-profit that I had the honor of visiting during my trip in Pai, Thailand. Their story and cause really touched me, and I wanted to show them that our Steemit community is filled with love and support.
So, you might ask... how much money did we end up raising?
WOW! $628 USD! Yup that's right. Does a little happy dance. I couldn't be prouder of our Steemit community. Thank you for showing up and supporting. Special thanks to @earworm @emjoe @creadordelfuturo for sending extra money via SBD and cash! You rock! What a pleasant surprise.

Well done Karen! You're done a terrific job and we hope to be going up to Chiang Mai for Songkran (Thai New Year) in April and we will probably stay at an elephant sanctuary - maybe this one, maybe not as it's further away. Checking a few out! :)
awww! For sure! Don't go to the elephant sanctuaries in Chiang Mai... they are no good. This one is in Pai. Worth the trip to Pai for sure! When you go, please tell them I said hi! :)
Sure, we think we found one outside Chiang Mai, but unfortunately not your suggested elephant natural reserve in Pai. With the plans we have, we might not be able to make it to Pai. There's lots to explore in the North and we are sure to be back in that area. :)

That is such a brutal thing to do .. to make them lose their animal instincts and make them submissive to human beings …totally agree how we should travel more responsibly. Good attempt ..keep it up !

The elephant will be donated to a nature reserve park after she gives birth to her baby! They are really doing great things.
