5 Ways To Be More NOW...
Ahh, Life in Bali: one of the world's most popular islands.
Believe it or not, life can be stressful here too!
I’m just saying...
Here are five exercises that will help you slow down and embrace the power of now
ONE
Ask yourself this question… “Is there anything wrong with my life RIGHT NOW?”
Try that again. And remember, forget the past and the future.
Here we go…
“Is there anything wrong with my life RIGHT NOW?”
You should be feeling peaceful. It’s like resetting your I-phone. And even a little break from the endless mind-chatter is a breath of fresh air for your nerves.
TWO
Even when we are doing simple things, we usually think about the next moment, but the future never arrives does it? We end up frustrated unless we can be present now.
When walking down stairs, washing our hands etc. do it consciously, focus on the motion, on the sensation. Feel the water, and smell the soap. Become acutely aware of your senses.
The more you bring those moments into your life, the more your old conditioning becomes eroded... gradually.
And I love this one!
THREE
Forget about what other people think.
“When you’re 20 you care what everyone thinks, when you’re 40 you stop caring what everyone thinks, when you’re 60 you realize no one was ever thinking about you in the first place.”
— Winston Churchill
Society has a way of programming our egos. We are constantly aware of what other people might be thinking or saying about us.
FOUR
Ask yourself this question… “Am I still breathing?”
Observe… and the answer is yes!! (We hope)
You feel the air going into your body, and at that moment, you feel presence, even if it’s for five seconds.
But hang on, each day I still drift into the past or the future. Or my thoughts become split between different things.
Why not try this?
FIVE
Chances are, you enjoy every second of every minute when you’re working on something you love, such as a blog for Steemit.
Writing is one of my passions. I love helping people improve their life. It makes me come alive, and it keeps me in the present moment.
Inspiration flows effortlessly and in addition - money comes in!
I hope these suggestions work to serve you.
From Bali - with love,
Karen
