Downy Woodpecker

Hello Steemians

This female downy woodpecker, lacks the red spot on the back of
it's head, that the male has.

Very similar to the hairy woodpecker, the downy is a couple .....

inches shorter, and it's bill is much smaller.

It is found through most of Canada and the US, except in the
extreme north and extreme south.

Frequent visitors at backyard feeders, suet feeders and even
hummingbird feeders, as well as goldenrod galls.
