Shree Swami Samarth review - unlimited food for a dollar

Saturday was quite an eventful day for me. My wife and I drove to two temples in the State of Maharashtra, that are of extreme significance to Hindus. It was a 15 hour drive and probably the longest I have driven during a day. We stopped at many places for food and drinks and Shree Swami Samarth was our second stop, after breakfast.

The restaurant was part of a Motel called Sadashiv Smriti.

Since we knew we had to drive a lot, we were happy with the buffet option. Food would have been pre-cooked and would offer us a decent choice of dishes. The options available were Gujarati and Maharashtrian thali that came with one poppadum, unlimited, rice, chapati, lentil curry, yoghurt curry (kadhi) amd 2 veggies (aubergine curry and mixed beans curry).

The menu had other option, and I'll share the menu here.

The menu was quite limited anyway, so thali seemed to be a good and value for money option.

The restaurant was not spacious but space was efficiently utilised.

The place was clean though and that was a plus. The plate was laid out quickly abd then the food came one by one.

The aubergine and mixed bean curries were good, not at all spicy. The flatbread was thin and soft with butter applied. The yoghurt curry was decent, could have used more spice but the lentil curry was too watery for my liking. The food overall was not at all oily and felt like a healthy meal. It's ideal for a long journey if one didn't want to feel bloated or have a heavy meal. Most places bear Traysmbakeshwar temple serve fried food and this is a very good alternative to that.

I'll go with 3.5 on a scale of 1 to 5, 5 being best, for the place and the food. It's a decent healthy meal for just a little over a dollar, or INR 80 to be
