I guess to stop unknown pre-execution this could have the best choice. I do agree with your point in this interconnected world cyber security is indeed necessary. This is like a new trend that is catching on. I remember seeing a similar project very recently. Machine Learning has proven to be very capable at medical diagnostic at certain experiments. It should work even better in a purely digital and technological setting.
I'm sure the technology has a lot of room to improve. It would be interesting to see what companies like Kaspersky Lab and Norton Security end up doing. I'm sure they don't wan to become dinosaurs.
They won't, i am certain they are investing in research. ML and AI are rapidly growing. Interesting space to watch.
