Market Friday: lunch at the Chinese restaurant Sanyod in Bangrak, แวะไปกินข้าวเที่ยงที่ร้านแสนยอด

This is my entry for #marketfriday hosted by the very gentle and compassionate @dswigle. Life has been incredibly hectic and busy this past week. Time just slipped by without evident accomplishment in anything substantial. Perhaps I have been too occupied with the forthcoming Steem Fest4 in Bangkok and the arrival of several Steemit friends.

Last week I managed to visit my favourite Chinese cuisine in Bangrak. I just discovered that this restaurant got listed on Michelin Guide 2018. No wonder I had to make two attempts to find this original restaurant, after I frequented one of their branches, for I could tell the Chinese food the chef cooked was quite special. This was my second visit and I was lucky to meet the owner of the restaurant. This nice and friendly gentleman told me about his father who was a Cantonese cook for years and now the whole family including his sons all join in the family business. That’s why they have several branches in high-end shopping malls around Bangkok.

The owner told me that the bigger and newer restaurant was just diagonal to this original one. There was a big parking space by the other side of the restaurant for up to forty cars. So, it seemed that this old restaurant has been quite well known among the gourmet Chinese families. This Cantonese cuisine was more high-end than the usual Chinese food stalls and prices were at least thirty percents higher than usual. The owner allowed me to take photos of the bigger restaurant which is called Grand Sanyod.

สัปดาห์ที่ผ่านมาเวลาหายไปรวดเร็วเหมือนสายฟ้าแลบ เราแทบจะหาเวลาเป็นของตนเองยากมาก เพราะมัวแต่ทำภาระกิจให้คนอื่นๆ อยากให้เรามีความสามารถยืดเวลาได้ จะได้ทำอะไรได้หลายๆอย่างในเวลาที่จำกัด ส่วนหนึ่งเราก็คอยดูว่าจะมีชาวสตีมที่เรารู้จักมางานชุมนุมที่กรุงเทพฯสักกี่คน เราก็ต้องวางแผนไปหาทางเจอบางคนที่ได้ให้ความช่วยเหลือเราตั้งแต่แรก ในตอนที่เรายังไม่รู้จักใครเลย ชีวิตก็แปลกดีที่มีคนต่างชาติมาช่วยค้ำจุนจนเราแข็งแรงอย่างรวดเร็ว เราก็อยากจะตอบแทนบุญคุณที่เขามีต่อเรา งานชุมนุมนี้เป็นการจัดงานที่ตลกมาก จากมุมมองของคนที่เคยร่วมประชุมและจัดงานชุมนุมมาพอสมควร จนป่านนี้โปรแกรมของงานยังออกมาแค่สองวันเอง อีกไม่ถึงสามวันงานก็จะเริ่มแล้ว เราก็เลยวางแผนไปดักเจอคนที่อยากพบค่อนข้างยากหน่อย ตลกอีกด้านหนึ่งคือจะมาจัดงานที่เมืองไทยโดยไม่ได้ทักทายกับกลุ่มคนไทยในสตีมอิทเลย ราคาค่าเข้างานถึงได้แพงกว่าเงินเดือนคนจบปริญญาตรีทั้งเดือน แต่ก็ดีเหมือนกัน ส่วนแบ่งรายได้ก็คงอยู่กับคนไทยที่ทำงานด้านการท่องเที่ยวมากขึ้น

เราเชื่อเรื่องกฎแห่งกรรมและบุญบารมีที่แต่ละคนสั่งสมกันมาตั้งแต่ในชาติก่อนๆ คนที่ไม่เคยทำบุญร่วมกันมาก่อนก็ยากที่จะมาเจอกันได้ เพราะโลกนี้กว้างใหญ่ไพศาลนัก ส่วนเพื่อนคนไหนที่หมดบุญที่เคยทำร่วมกันมาและไม่ได้ทำความดีร่วมกันเพิ่ม เราก็จะมีเหตุให้หลุดออกจากวงโคจรในอนาคต ฉะนั้นเราก็อดสงสัยไม่ได้ว่าเพื่อนฝรั่งของเราคงเคยทำบุญกับเรามาก่อน และยังมาทำความดีกับเราเพิ่มจึงส่งผลให้เราต้องกลับมาตอบแทนความดีของเขานั่นเอง

เราออกนอกเรื่องไปเยอะ เพราะเป็นสิ่งที่ทำให้ต้องตั้งคำถาม ว่าทำไมเราจึงอยากจะทำความดีให้แก่ชาวต่างชาติที่เป็นคนแปลกหน้า. โชคดีที่เรามีเวลาไปตามหาร้านอาหารจีนแสนยอดอีกเป็นครั้งที่สอง คราวนี้ เราได้เจอเจ้าของร้านและพึ่งจะรู้ว่าร้านนี้ได้ขึ้นแท่นอยู่ ในหนังสือรวมร้านอาหารได้ระดับติดดาวของมิชิลินในปี 2018. มิน่าเล่า เราถึงได้ลงทุนออกเดินตามหาร้านนี้ถึงสองครั้ง เจ้าของร้านบอกว่าเป็นร้านที่ทำต่อจากรุ่นพ่อ ตอนนี้ทุกคนในครอบครัวก็สานต่อด้านนี้ ทำให้มีร้านสาขาหลายแห่งตามห้างใหญ่ๆ ราคาก็แพงกว่าร้านอาหารจีนทั่วไป แต่ก็คุ้มมากถ้าเทียบกับร้านอาหารยุโรปที่ติดดาวแบบนี้ เขาบอกว่าร้านใหม่ใหญ่กว่านี้ และอยู่เยื้องตรงข้าม มีที่จอดรถยนต์ได้ถึงสี่สิบคัน

This was my humble lunch at Sanyod: rice noodles fried with sea bass Cantonese style. But I also caught a very nice steamed sea bass ordered by a family.

เราไปคนเดียวก็กินชามเดียวอิ่ม ก๋วยเตี๋ยวราดหน้าที่นี่ทำให้คิดถึงร้านโปรดของเราที่โซโอในลอนดอน อาหารจีนที่ร้านนี้อร่อยโดยไม่ใส่ผงชูรสเลย แถมเรายังสั่งว่าไม่ใส่นํ้าตาลด้วย ราคาอาหารที่นี่ถูกกว่าสาขาที่เซ็นทรัล แต่ขนาดและปริมาณน้อยกว่าที่ร้านสาขา เราเห็นคนอื่นสั่งปลานึ่งมะนาวแล้ว อยากสั่งมาบ้าง แต่ที่นีไม่มีปลากระพงตัวเล็ก ก็ต้องอดใจไว้ก่อน

The best way to get to this restaurant is to get to BTS Taksin then walk towards Robinson mall. Cross to the opposite side of Robinson to find a narrow road called Chareon Wiang.

When looking down the road,one could see that huge robot like building standing at the end of the road. Just walk straight towards the black robot building, you’ll see Sanyod restaurant on your left hand side, it’s about five minutes walk.

ถ้าอยากจะไปลองชิมอาหารที่นี่ ก็ไปที่สถานีบีทีเอส ตากสิน แล้วหาห้างโรบินสัน ข้ามถนนไปฝั่งตรงข้ามกับห้าง จะมีถนนแคบๆ ชื่อ ถนนเจริญเวียง. มองไปข้างหน้าจะเห็นตึกดำเหมือนหุ่นยนต์ยืนตระหง่าน เดินตรงไปหาตึกนี้ สักห้านาทีจะเห็นร้านแสนยอดอยู่ทางซ้ายมือ ถ้ามองกลับมาทางโรบินสัน ก็จะเห็นตึกขาวๆยืนท้าทายตึกหุ่นยนต์นั่นเอง
