Asia Cup: Match No 1 Bangladesh Vs Srilanka

Friends, Asia Cup cricket has been started from yesterday. Six teams are participating in the event which is going on in UAE. Opening match of the Asia Cup was played b/w Bangladesh & Srilanka. Tough match was expected b/w these two teams but Bangladesh easily outclassed Srilanka in every department and won the match easily by 137 runs

Earlier Bangladesh won the toss and elected to bat first. Srilankan Pacer Lasith Malinga provided great start to Srilankan team by picking two wickets in first over.

First victim was Liton Das and the other one is shakib ul Hassan. Both batsmen added no score. In second over Tamim left the field due to wrist injury. This time Lakmal was the bowler. So top three batsmen were back to the pavilion without adding a decent score. Srilanka were 2 for 2 at the end of second over.
Mithun & Mushfiq started to build the innings. Srilankan fielders wree generous enough to Bangladeshi batsmen by dropping couple of catches of Mithun & Mushfiq. Mean while Mithun completed his 50 runs in style. Malinga got rid off Mithun. He scored 63 runs. No other batsmen batted well after the dismissal of Mithun except the former captain Mushfiq showed his class by his brilliant innings of 144.

Bangladesh managed to give decent target of 261. Pitch was pretty slow. So target was little tough for Srilanka. Tharanga provided a brisk start to Srilankan team. He scored runs in just 11 balls. Mendis didn't add any run on the score. He was out on the first ball.
Mashrafe Mortaza cleaned bowled Tharanga in the third over. After the dismissal of Tharanga no batsmen able to survive against Bangladeshi quality bowling. Wickets fall continuously. Half of the Srilankan team went to the pavilion at the score of 61. No batsmen able to provide solid foundation to the team. Dilruwan Perera & Lakmal added 29 & 20 runs respectively to manage Srilanka get past 100 runs. Srilanka bowled out at 124.
