My First Community Project

We believe that Steemit will be future social media platform and that's why we are here. So that all of Steemit users should do somethings to reduce the time of this process. @steeminator3000 @monomyth @vitruvianman and me talked about how can we be useful for Steemit. We are all living at different cities of Turkey so that it was limited to do something together as organized. We decided to introduce Steemit and @sndbox in different cities of Turkey on the popular places.

KALVAS ON DUTY !

My mission was introduce Steemit and @sndbox to Istanbul. We became organized with @vitruvianman my places were in European side of Istanbul, and his places were Anatolian side. We were able to being people's attention on all the popular places.

I never thought people would be so interested in the beginning. So I was a bit desperate but still I never lost my desire on this duty, and I was determined to spend my 1 day for this mission no matter what. My all equipments were ready. posters, adhesives and scissors. Everything were ready. I was thinking to buy a book for myself today from D&R, after I enter the shop I realized here is the best place to introduce Steemit because all of their attitude of mind is able for Steemit. I tried to talk to someone who is working there, and then as first I mentioned to him about the Steemit and I attracted attention of him so I requested if I could hang a poster between the books. At least it stands there for 2-3 hours it would be enough for me. Because I was pretty sure people here would be interested with the poster. As a matter of fact, it was incredibly happy to see that a middle-aged gentleman had taken a photo of the poster as soon as I hanged it. And as you can see from the photo after I hanged the poster a lady immediately came and examined the poster. This kind of things made me on fire on this duty...

KALVAS IN THE STREETS

Firstly, a man asked me if I'm in the management board of this site. This question in a fact a logical question. And if I encountered such a thing, it might be one of the first questions that I'll ask, because why would you go into trying to introduce a site that does not belong to you ? After answering a few questions in haste, I walked around with the posters on the crowded streets. This time I was more convinced because I got good feedback from people. I never thought that I would do such a thing, even in the past, I was hating the people who distribute brochure on the streets. And now I'm one of them because of Steemit.

On the poster it is typed "Share Post and Earn money" probably because of that people peppered me with questions. My posters ran out in a short time and so that I had to print more. I was going to copy center to print the posters and people were coming with me, we were going to copy center as big group of people that was funny and they never left me. But there were too many places to go, so that I answered all of their questions and then I left there.

Steemit'te hepimizin olmasının sebebi geleceğin sosyal medya platformu olacağına inanmamızdır. Ve bu yüzden düşündük ki tüm steemit kullanıcılarının bir şeyler yapması lazım ki bu süreci olabildiğince aza indirgeyebilelim. @steeminator3000 @monomyth @vitruvianman ve ben organize olarak Steemit'e nasıl bir fayda sağlayabileceğimizi konuştuk. Grup üyeleri 3 farklı şehirde yaşadığı için yapabileceklerimiz sınırlıydı. Bu yüzden aklımıza Steemit'i ve @sndbox'ı Türkiye'nin farklı illerinde, popüler ve kalabalık mekanlarda tanıtma kararı aldık.

Bana düşen görev İstanbul'da yaşadığım için İstanbul'a olabildiğince Steemit ve @sndbox'ı tanıtmaktı. @vitruvianman ile İstanbul'u ikiye bölüştük ve sanırım günlük 15-20 km yürüyerek bütün gözde mekanlarda insanların ilgi odağı olmayı başardık.

Ben başlarda insanların bu kadar ilgili olacağını hiç düşünmemiştim. Yani ümitsizdim açıkçası biraz ama yine de isteğimi hiç kaybetmedim ve 1 günümü ne olursa olsun bu iş için ayırdım. Tüm cephanelerimi hazırladım. Posterler, bantlar, makas, iPhone 6s kamerası. Her şey hazırdı. İlk durağım kişisel olarak D&R'dan bir kitap alacaktım, mağazaya girince fark ettim ki buradaki insanların kafa yapısı tam Steemit'lik. Hemen oradan çalışan birisiyle muhabbet kurmaya çalıştım ve ardından ilk Steemit hakkında ona bahsettim. Çok ilginç buldu tabi ben anlattığım için, ardından tam şöyle kitapların ortasına afişi asabilir miyim diye rica ettim. En azından 2-3 saat dursa bile yeterdi benim için, çünkü eminim buradaki insanların ilgisi büyük olacaktı bu afişe. Nitekim öyle de oldu ben daha asar asmaz arkamdan orta yaşlı bir beyefendinin afişini çaktırmadan fotoğrafını çektiğini görmek inanılmaz mutluluk vericiydi. Fotoğraftan da görebileceğiniz gibi astıktan hemen sonra bir bayanın gelip afişi incelemesi de beni iyice gaza getirdi...

Bana ilk olarak, bu sitenin yönetimiyle bir alakam olup olmadığı soruldu. Bu soru aslında mantıklı bir soruydu, ben de böyle bir şey ile karşılaşsam ilk soracağım sorulardan birisi olabilirdi çünkü, kim niçin kendisine ait olmayan bir siteyi böylesine tanıtma uğraşına girsin ki? Ayak üstü bir kaç soruyu cevaplamamın ardından insanların yoğun olduğu sokaklarda elimde afişlerle dolaştım. Bu sefer daha bir inançlıydım işe çünkü çok iyi feedbackler aldım insanlardan. Hiç aklıma gelmezdi böyle bir şey yapacağım, hatta eskiden böyle sokak ortalarında broşür dağıtan insanlara kıl olurdum. Artık onlardan birisi olmuştum Steemit yüzünden.

Afişin üstünde paylaşım yap ve para kazan yazdığı için olmalıydı ki insanlar beni soru yağmuruna tuttu resmen. Broşürler kısa zamanda tükendi ve biraz daha çıktı almak zorunda kaldım. Çıktı almaya falan 10 kişi gidiyorduk insanlar bir türlü peşimi bırakmadı, ama daha gidilecek çok durak vardı o yüzden kendilerinin bana yönelttiği tüm soruları cevaplayıp oradan ayrıldım.
