Blog #12: Play-to-earn is back! Here are a few tips

The new Flux system has arrived a few days ago. It enables GU players to fuse two identical plain core cards into one meteorite card. You can then fuse the core cards into a higher quality (shadow, gold, diamond) or sell it on a player market of your choice for Ethereum. However, you need to win ranked games to gather Flux, a currency that is necessary for fusing. The amount of Flux you can get daily is limited to three wins per god. Fusing two cards costs between 20 and 200 Flux, depending on their rarity. However, I feel like in the long run for most of us the cards you earn will be a more important limiting factor.

Pros and Cons of Flux

+all the core cards now available to you for Eth, no grinding necessary
+earn Eth by selling unwanted cards
+collect your favorite cards multiple times to upgrade them to a shiny version
+by earning Eth, you can get Genesis cards without actually paying for them
+matches get more diverse because players are encouraged to use different gods

-the last card advantage against whales is gone, because they can now simply buy their missing cards

Flux: Dos and Don'ts

The most important thing if you want to earn some Eth is to compare prices. Check the most used market places (in-game client, tokentrove.com, opensea.io) and if you really want to sell a card, put it for sale for the lowest price. Also check the price history of your card ingame to see if anyone ever was willing to pay that much. Otherwise, make it cheaper. Another important thing is to not sacrifice your rank for Flux. You might be tempted to play all the Gods every day to earn as much Flux as possible, but it's hard to have six equally good decks. And in the end, what matters most for both your wallet and your decks are the cards from the ranked constructed events.
