🎶3'Yo!🎶 K-Pop Fever Is Going To Get You

So much unrest!! RC and VP and what not!! After 2 days I have a little over 65%. Do I wait to get 100%? Well, I did post within the first hour of Steemit coming back. Some are saying it's fine, some are saying wait... I waited... Now I'm done waiting. Let's see what happens when I post this.

They say the best things, come in 3's. Well so do the bad!. But the point here is "3"!! So I present to you 3'Yo!, 3 Songs, 1 Theme. So here goes.

The Neighbours Are Going To Complain!!

While I am typing away, the kids are blasting their K-Pop songs. They are dancing and singing. This is pretty much the scene anytime they get the opportunity and until I scream Blue Murder. There's only so many times I can listen to the same songs with volume pushed all the way up.

To a certain extent I am good, as they are on their feet sweating it out as opposed to playing video games non stop. Kiddos have been practising choreography, singing and rapping along, memorized the fans' chants, the works.

You Can't Beat Them, You Join Them!

I wanted to know about this, dare I call it, yes! obsession with K-Pop. I started asking them questions, and now they are trying to get me to dance with them.... oh oh!!

A few years back, when I was still on radio, there was a campaign to give out Big Bang concert tickets. I was reluctant. I had never heard of Big Bang prior, and The English Market wouldn't care for K-Pop! I argued. And to my surprise I was wrong!! The calls that came in, fans trying to get their hands on the tickets put me in my place.

Since then, K-Pop has only been growing bigger and bigger. The biggest, casting their web far and wide is BTS. From The Ellen Show to the Jimmy Fallon Show, from topping the Billboard Charts to performing at the AMA's with screaming, crying fans is unbelievable. Apart from BTS, there's a ton of other K-Pop groups like Ikon, Seventeen, Twice, Blackpink, NCT (my kid is giving me the names right now and she won't stop!! helppppp) and more.

7 pretty boys, dance and sing, writing their own songs. I will not regurgitate facts and figures as it is all over the net, right down to their blood type (No! I am not kidding). From being invited to perform and interviewed on some of the biggest shows, they have partnered with UN on a Global campaign to Empower the Youth. Their latest song Idol broke the record for most viewed Music Video in 24 hours on YouTube hitting 45m. I just checked and they now have 187m views. Want to add to that count? Hit play!

Blackpink

4 pretty girls (haha, you know "pretty" is part of the criteria), the biggest KPop Girl Group. I have never heard of them until today when kiddo started spewing out these names. Again, the net is filled with information about them right down to their weight. I learnt a new word today - Aegyo. It's like a talent along with Dance, Vocals and Rap. It means "Acting Cute"... What??!! When I clicked on the video, I was the 384, 958, 537th to view it. How crazy is that?!!

And last on my 3'Yo! picks for K-Pop, is Ikon who will be performing next weekend in Malaysia. Not as big as the two above, but since the tickets for the concert was released, my friends were talking about going for the concert. These are adults!! K-Pop is really taking the over the world. This is one song that I personally like and the kids have been practicing the choreo to make me happy.
