Lionel Messi insists he is not a figure of selfish players.

Barcelona star Lionel Messi says he is not a selfish player on the pitch, whether he was young or current.

Messi is said to play more effectively now and no longer run a lot on the pitch. But the Argentine said there was little meaningful change in his distance in the field.

Messi admits that there is indeed a change in his style of play, but it is related to his current mindset that tries not to appear selfish as a player on the pitch.

"Right now I'm trying to play for the sake of the team, the flow of the ball is more through me and I'm not trying to be alone in solving attacks like before."
