Will Steemit replace my Facebook and Instagram?
Good evening!
I do not take that Facebook question that pops out every time I open it, asking me 'What is on your mind?', seriously. Not all the time. Today I took it as a challenge but decided to bring it on Steemit rather than Facebook.
Not only because it will be a little longer than my usual Facebook posts, but also because everyone here knows (or at least likes to believe) what Steemit is, as opposed to my friends on Facebook that have not discovered it yet.
I have been thinking what to do with all these platforms I am currently using. It would be great to only have one. And that is my (long term) goal. I am hoping it will be Steemit with it's incredible potential.
I currently spend the majority of my 'online time' on Steemit. The first reason is (obviously) the charm of novelty. It is interesting, has many intriguing stories and information. I found some really quality content by now. It is nice to see how people interact and many have great ideas for improvement of the platform. It is fun to explore what it has to offer.
However, I have a hard time finding that particular quality content. This is unfortunately the main reason why I spend that much time on Steemit. It takes me a while to discover a really good post. And when I do, I am surprised to see that it only has 10 up-votes or so. Okay, maybe it is me that has a weird taste. But still, it is a bit unorganized. Which I understand.
The platform I have been using the most (up till now) is Facebook. The fact that I can share things with my closest friends and some acquaintances and not everyone is one of my main reasons for using it. On Facebook, I like to share my brilliant taste in music, some interesting articles, photographs. Rarely I share my long opinions or thoughts, because I believe that they already know me. Besides, I am saving that for actual conversations. I share many little things, not very often though, but I feel that the same things would be considered as spam if posted on Steemit. At least until my friends get enlightened and join me here. Also a good thing about Facebook, that Steemit does not offer me, is chat. This will be a hard feature to replace if I eventually decide to leave Facebook for good.
Instagram is to me just a tool with which I can post photos from my phone the fastest and easiest. Also, I use it to see some beautiful photographs from places that I do not have time (or money) to visit yet. I do not like the idea of Instagram where one posts three selfies a day, but again, I do not follow many of those. Instagram I could miss. Steemit gives me that option. On the other hand, Instagram allows me to share my photos only with the people I want.
So will I replace my Facebook and Instagram for Steemit?
Probably not. Or at least not yet.
For now I will remain calm and patient to see it's development through time.

I'm rarely on Facebook anymore. I think people here are more interesting and authentic. I'm glad you're here. No reason to give up other sites, at least not yet!
So you mentioned music. What are some groups or songs that you like? That might be an idea for a post here!
It is actually nice to see what people from all over the place have to say and show. I am glad to be here! And thank you for the suggestion.
Keep up the good work!
