Bitcoin transactions are NOT peer-to-peer!

Bitcoin transactions are not technically peer-to-peer, unless you are running a node. Despite the name of the whitepaper, transactions are routed through nodes.

This is important because it leads to fundamental misunderstandings on how the Lightning Network will operate, Satoshi's vision (which we can no longer verify), and how decentralized the network actually is.
