Short poem #5: Perfect

You are loved just for being who you are, just for existing. You don't have to do anything to earn it. Your shortcomings, your lack of self-esteem, physical perfection, or social and economic success - none of that matters. No one can take this love away from you, and it will always be here.

Once again this simple quote inspired me to write this poem.

I've always been a part of the shadows
Too afraid to show my colors.
A small particle in a crowd
Easily camaflauged
Built up a wall to fend of intruders
Made my heart hard as steel and cold as ice
But then u broke down my walls,
lifted me up
Taught me how to fly with these broken wings.
You don't try to change me
Even though I'm crazy
When its all too much then you take me home,
And when I break down you say its beautiful,
And when I mess up you let me be me.
I know there's always gonna be somebody better
Somebody easier who's got it all together,
Someone who's willing to take you farther,
Someone taller, smarter and who works a little harder,
But everytime I feel like I ain't really worth it, then you say I'm perfect.
I keep telling you to find somebody better,
An easier one for you to handle
Because I fall, I break and end up in pieces easily
But everytime I can't pull myself back together,
Then you say I'm perfect.
